Hi,
7 days ago I downloaded the trial version of VideoStudio in hopes of finding something worthwhile that could produce PIP videos without causing loads of problems. So far, I'm not impressed at all, but I really need to at least get this one last video out of the editor before I uninstall it for good.
My brother is creating one of those music videos where you record all of the tracks yourself and then have a 3x3 grid of videos of yourself playing. He gave me all of the videos and audio tracks and asked me to edit it for him, and I was able to do so using the waveform feature of the trial version, although not without tons and tons of unnecessary lagging.
I currently have 7 out of the 9 videos cut and positioned correctly, and I just tried to export the video (in MP4 format, 1080p) so I could preview it without ridiculous amounts of lag within the video editor. It gave me the error message "This format is only supported in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10", and then simply gave up trying to export the video. I have tried every single file format and every single resolution, and absolutely none of them give me anything other than this error message. What's frustrating is that I just made a video similar to this with 3 tracks that was 20 times as long, and it exported perfectly fine without any problems.
I'm not looking for advice on how to use this editor, because I'm most likely going to get rid of it as soon as I finish this video. I just need someone to tell me how I can render this video and export it successfully as soon as possible. My brother is counting on me and he wants this video uploaded tonight or tomorrow. Please help.

Can ANYONE help? This is so frustrating considering I'm running this software on a Windows 10 laptop with an i7 processor. The only explanation for this kind of crappy editor behavior is bad coding.

It looks as you know your ways with NLE's . But you are using a trial version, it may hold many limitations we don't know of as we are using the full version. The full version I believe could save the 3X3 video.

If you are going to get rid of the program as soon as you finish your video, why should anyone bother to help you? The trial version has certain features missing or crippled.ChemicalCat59 wrote:Hi,

Thank you all for your wonderful help and support.
The trial version of the editor is supposed to give a view into what the full version is like, so based on my horrible experience with it, I will most certainly NOT be downloading this piece of junk editor.
Why should you help me? Because I asked for help. This is a help forum. Not only is this editor a piece of crap, but so is the community around it for apparently only offering help to those who love and praise this editor.
I'm sorry I hate this editor. I just needed to use it to make a quick video, and that's all I was asking for. Thanks for nothing.

If you are so desperate, why not try Windows Movie Maker or a down market version from another supplier (Serif?)
VideoStudio is an excellent programme which is aimed at easy editing and production of videos.
( Not only is this editor a piece of crap, but so is the community around it for apparently only offering help to those who love and praise this editor.) Maybe because we have bothered to learn to use the editor and not wasted time wingeing about it. Sensible people train themselves up before tackling a "must have" video.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Newbie here so I dont know much. But I wonder if this is a problem caused by not using lower res proxy files to work on?
