No Audio When Capturing Video
Just Downloaded VSX10...Using the Capture tab I am able to see and hear the video, but when I click on "Capture Video" the audio goes away...hit "Stop Capture" audio returns.
When I playback what I have captured, the audio is only there in the first half second...

Re: No Audio When Capturing Video
Hi Jim
Can you confirm if you are using the trial version or you have purchased the full version
How and what are you trying to capture? if you are capturing through a video card then you would set the capture properties.
Can you give more details as to what you are capturing and the properties you have set.
It may help us if you can update your profile to include your PC specifications, that may show your capture device/card.

But exactly how are you capturing the VHS from the VHS player -- a capture device, cables?

Re: No Audio When Capturing Video
When I go to my System Information and under "Sound Device" there are 3 listed:
Realtek High Definition Audio
AVerMedia C727 PCle HD Capture Device
NVIDIA High Definition Audio
Too many Sound Devices? Getting confused which one to use?

Re: No Audio When Capturing Video
Which one is currently set as default under the recording tab, one would assume that if you are using a capture device, then that should be set as default, but that is not always the case, try setting each one in turn as default

Re: No Audio When Capturing Video
Will it let you deactivate the AVmedia HD Audio, if so you should then be able to select another device, it's possible that this particular issue is not Video Studio related but is an audio software update issue

Re: No Audio When Capturing Video
I can disable it, and then enable the Realtek HD Audio...will let you know the results. Still seems strange the same setup worked in VS X9...RobertOZ wrote:Will it let you deactivate the AVmedia HD Audio, if so you should then be able to select another device, it's possible that this particular issue is not Video Studio related but is an audio software update issue
Nope..same results...I can hear the audio up until I hit "Capture Audio"...audio returns when I hit "Stop Capture".

Re: No Audio When Capturing Video
As a test can you try and capture any video on your computer using Live Screen Capture, launch from within VS and screen capture anything you have.
In settings make sure that both voice and system audio are selected, when you stop recording the captured video will show in VS, does the recording have sound, also try a voice recording as well, does that play

Re: No Audio When Capturing Video
Live screen Capture works fine...don't know about the audio portion though as I have no mic.
Whoops...misunderstood what you wanted me to do.
Yes, it records the audio from a YouTube video I play..though it is not very clear.
Using the Sound Check, it only records when I select the RealTEk HD Audio as the Input Device and not the AVerMedia HD Audio Card

Re: No Audio When Capturing Video
Hello Jim,
there is the possibilities the video codec file are missing from this video. So I suggest you can try video repair tool to correct the corrupted video files.

Re: No Audio When Capturing Video
Hi Jim
From the capture tab the program recognises your capture device.
There is an Options Cogwheel that allows us to set the capture properties.
I do not see any reference to that in the earlier replies.
The type of device being recognised will display options for that device, so what I see may not be the same as you.
Have you set the video properties within the Options, as far as I know will allow to choose Video and Audio.
Explore all options there.

Re: No Audio When Capturing Video
If that were the case, why would it work in VS X9 and not VS X10???? And it's a not a file..its a VHS tape...jasonwilliam wrote:Hello Jim,
