Start PSPS2018 to the Home Page (usually the default)
Click the EDIT tab to go into Edit Mode (do not have any projects open)
Edit Mode is entered mangled, with the main edit window floating in bad location, overlapping and unordered.
Looks VERY unprofessional and sloppy, confusing.
Obviously, quite visually buggy.
Doesn't seem to affect functionality very much.

Re: EDIT Mode Startup Visual Issue
You may have seen this advice in many other threads - have you tried resetting the program? Hold the shift key while starting PSP. This solves many odd problems such as this, but no guarantee.

And if Mark's suggestion doesn't work, I'd ask whether or not you have set Windows to scale your display to something other than 100%. We have seen some issues with scaling and how it can affect some of the visual elements of PSP such as dialogue windows, etc.

Re: EDIT Mode Startup Visual Issue
No scaling. This is a fresh brand new install of PSP2018.
It's been this way since day one. If this is a need to reset then there may be a bug in the initial install.
I will reset.

Re: EDIT Mode Startup Visual Issue
Resetting did "fix" the problem, temporarily.
Addition steps are needed to repo the bug. The issue is having some default palettes closed.
When on the "Home" tab change from Essentials to Complete. This will cause more palettes to be displayed by default on the Edit page. This is key to reproing the bug.
Go to the "Edit" tab.
Close the Learning Center palette.
Close the Organizer palette.
Exit PSP2018.
Run PSP2018 again.
Click the EDIT tab.
This is a 100% repro on my machine. I've reset and confirmed a few times, and it always comes back.
This is no a bad issue - simply cosmetic. Pretty much anything that causes the screen to be redrawn/refreshed will fix the problem. Even going away from and back to PSP2018 while in the view will fix it. I just looks sloppy for a fresh install and it's something even a newbie tester should find on the first day. (I have some experience in that department)

Re: EDIT Mode Startup Visual Issue
I've had issues with a fresh install before and don't understand why a reset fixes some of them, but it has done the trick at times.
Another suggestion - do you save your workspace? When you have Edit mode as you like it with palettes where you want them, save your workspace. Note that there is an option to save it without saving any open images. You can then use that workspace when things go awry.
Also, in preferences select how you want PSP to open, for example, the last mode used when leaving, or edit mode. I find that the only time I use the Home tab is when I experiment in testing.

Re: EDIT Mode Startup Visual Issue
I'm not too worried about saving my workspace or finding a solution/workaround. All that's needed is to open a project.
I'm simple telling anyone that cares to listen that there is a bug in PSP2018, just in case anyone at Corel wants to fix bugs that make the app look untested to those that expect new installs to work, not look like they didn't take the time to fix something so "in your face".
I'm good.
