Unable to render 2K videos longer then 15 minutes in VS10?

Post by jungleexplorer »

So I finally got a 4K camera and have been trying it out. I have been capturing video in 2560 x 1440 @ 30fps. I was trying to render a video that was 22 minutes long in VS-X10 Ultimate and the render seemed to go fine, but when I play the video file, the video goes blank at 15 minutes. I have tried everything, but I can't get the video to render past 15 minutes. I checked every piece of the video and there are no corrupt files. I split the video in two and rendered two 11 minute segments and they were just fine. The I tried to combine the two 11 minute segments and render them together and the same exact thing happens. On one of the renders, the video segment from 14 minutes to 15 minutes had me talking like a chipmunk. I have never had this problem before with 1080P videos. I have rendered hundreds of 1080P videos with no problem. I have tried rendering the video with VS-X9 and it did the same exact thing as VSX10. Help!

I believe there were reports related to "15min" in the past, one of the moderators can do better search than I.

Last night I rendered the two 11 minutes segments together, but this time I rendered to 1080P instead of 1440P and the rendered file plays fine all the way through. So this proves that it is just the 1440P resolution that is the problem. I have searched on here trying to find anything related to 15 minutes, but have not found anything so far. I hope an admin does chime in here.

Hi

Can you tell us what type of video files you are using MTS , Mpeg4 etc.
And maybe tell us the properties of the video files.
I’ll give it a go to try to replicate but feel I should use similar files.

Oh where are you saving the files to.?

Here is a screenshot of the video properties.

When I render a video a render to C drive which is a 250GB Samsung EVO 850 SSD.

The problem only occurs when trying to render back to the same resolution as the original files. It happens with Smart Render turned on or off, it does not matter. But the problem goes away when rendering to 1080P.

Hi

Sorry for the delay of our replies, I do not have a sample of the video you are using, a little surprised to see Mono for the audio, I would have thought modern cameras would use stereo?
I don’t suppose that is gonna cause problems.
I am rendering some files to 2560 x 1440 and will try to render again to same as clip properties.
Taking quite a while to render so will reply when complete

In the meantime if you create a new template using Movie Profile Manager, using the ADD option will copy the video files properties, then edit the template to set Stereo as audio.

Try rendering using the new template.

Otherwise I am at a bit of a loss as to what to suggest

I assume the problem occurs with all your files and not just one particular file?

Hi

I have rendered clips to create my own video file. Then as a test rendered that to same as first clip and Same as Project settings, in both cases the video rendered ok.
So far I am unable to replicate this problem.
My properties are as near to the ones you are using but not exactly the same.

If you can upload your VSP file to the forum then i9 can use your exact settings.
The easiest way to do that is to re – name the vsp to use TXT as its extension, which will allow you to attach the vsp to the post.
