I place an overlay image in the editor, and sometimes it will automatically (crop/stretch/zoom in) the image.
To fix, I just take the overlay image, and move it down one (like overlay 1 to 2, or 2 to 3, or 3 to 2, etc), and it fixes it. I can even move it back to the original overlay.
How do I stop this from happening completely?
I'm using X8 btw

In your VS Preference > Edit tab have you ticked the box beside "Use fit-to-screen as default size in overlay track"? If so, then untick it. Then you will always have a small version of whatever you are putting into the overlay track. Then right clicking it gives you a variety of options to change its size. This gives you more immediate control.

Settings are fine.
Same bug happens on my other PC as well, so it's not like a reinstall would fix this either

Hi
Please right click the clip on the timeline and choose properties
What are the pixel dimensions of the image.
The project window is 720 px wide and if the image is being displayed as a full image then I would suspect its about 600px wide?

Hi
When we place a clip on the overlay track it displays the yellow re-size handles, and that is what you are seeing
The actual image is being displayed in its full size, it is only 430 pixels wide and set on a 720 frame, it takes up the correct space. Video Studio is working correctly.
Using that image with such a low resolution the quality will be poor.
Your best option is to use an image editor to create a larger image at least the width of the video frame, although I would make it larger 1920 x 225 would keep the original aspect.
I have tried dragging the clip from overlay track to another and do not see any change.
If this changes the size for you can you create a Video Screen Capture to show us exactly what is going on.

Like I said, it doesn't do it 100% of the time.. but the more overlays I work with, the more often this happens
