Can DVDWS Express Import DVD w/out splitting into chapters?

Post by iamjcl »

Being frustrated with MF3's inability to import my home video DVDs without the original chapter marks, I would like to know if Workshop has the same limitation?

I know I can "join" the seperate clips in MF3, but then it re-encodes the whole thing - bad news.

An inexpensive program (Tmpgenc DVD Author) can import with or w/out chapters. I downloaded the fully functional trial, and the feature is sweet and works quickly and perfectly, but I don't like the rest of the program.

Anybody know the answer ?

... Just noticed the similar post - I take that WS will NOT import without chapter stops ?

If thats the case, will it at least let you import seperate .MP2 Video and .AC3 Audio files (that were demuxed on ripping) WITHOUT re-encoding ?

Yes, you can use separate Video and Audio files...

p.s. the TRIAL version does not support Dolby Digital (AC3) audio

Thanks for the info - Perhaps the next release of MF or WS will have more robust import options.
