This problem started recently. It concerns using my old but normally trusty PSP 8. But via a macro that I've used without trouble for years in XP and the last 18 months in Win 10. Written with Macro Express Pro it simply pastes whatever image is on the clipboard to Paint Shop Pro 8. Conveniently faster, as I can activate it with a hotkey. Here's the macro reduced to its essential two commands:
Activate or Launch: Window "Jasc Paint Shop Pro", Program "Paint Shop Pro.exe", Parameters ""
Clipboard Paste
It does open PSP 8 (after about 6 seconds, much slower than before) and pastes. But then my macro won't stop. I have to close PSP 8 to stop it. That's however I activate it. Yet if I manually paste into PSP 8, that works perfectly.
In contrast, this macro opens, pastes to MS Paint, and the macro closes.
Activate or Launch: Window "- Paint", Program "mspaint.exe", Parameters ""
Clipboard Paste
That still tends to point to PSP 8 as the culprit, or Win 10, or a combination. I've posted in the MX Pro forum, but would appreciate any suggestions please?

Meanwhile, with much hope, I installed PSP 8 from scratch (8.01 on CD, patch, update to 8.10). No change.

Main problem solved by LeviFiction in this thread:

My only outstanding question is whether it's possible to force PSP 8 to open only a single instance?
