Applying settings to several images

Hello everybody,

I am a long time ASP user. I have a question which has been on my mind for quite some time now.

I started photography class in September and of course at the school we are using the Adobe LR solution for managing raw files.

In LR when you select several images and for instance slide your exposure compensation, it will adjust the exposure of all selected images. I have tried to emulate that in ASP, but can't.

Same goes for managing Metadata. I am looking for a way to save a preset, which will allow me to apply it to a selection of images, instead of editing the IPTC in each image individually, which is a pain.

Any help is really appreciated

You cannot apply e.g. exposure compensation to several selected images.
But it is possible when using presets or copy and paste (all or selective) - in this case - multi image view has to be off!
And you can apply Metadata to several images also with selective copy (or copy sets ...) And for keywords its also possible using the Keyword tool (not the Keywords section in the Metadata tool), also with image view off!

So basically I can not save an IPTC Preset and afterwards apply it to images imported at a later stage, which means I have to select an image on which the IPTC information is already as I want it and copy / paste it into my new images ??? So in fact meta data management is pretty non-existent.

i my opinion proper IPTC and generally, meta data management should be a key priority for ASP as no professional photographer would use it without these features

This is wrong - sure you can! Its easy!

1 You can whenever you want: with presets
2 You can whenever you want: with selective copy and paste
3 You can whenever you want: with copy set (and a keyboard shortcut ...)
4 You can when importing: with raw or camera defaults
5 You can when importing: with apply a preset

The main thing is - "Multiimageview" must be off if you want to do it with many or all images.
I do 4) with main IPTC settings (like copyright, e.g.) - that are applied to all of my images - and 1), 3) very often ( I have copy sets for title, headline, description / GPS / Metadata all without date and lable, stars/ e.g.)- and sometimes 3) and 5).

No! The way presets work is not easy, it is very slow and tedious, and drives me up the wall....
add to that that editing of copy sets is broken...

It works here - really easy!
Also copy sets are working without a problem.
