Aftershot 2 crash on startup

So I moved a few photos around today, then later restarted my computer and now Aftershot pro 2 flat out refuses to start. Runing from the console shows a log that suggests it couldn't open some path, but no idea what it was.

I'm fully expecting I've lost my catalog - which is probably going to be a massive pain (unless someone has some tips to help me out), however I can't even launch it right now.

Any ideas how to make it start? Honestly I have more trouble with Aftershot and Aftershot 2 than I did with Bibble, I'm not sure I want to upgrade to v3.

3 years, and one major bump in release numbers, and this problem still exists.
I misunderstood "import", and imported pictures directly from memory card, removed the memory card, and now ASP3 crashes on startup.
So yes, I did the wrong thing. But for it to crash is unacceptable.
For this bug to remain for 3 years, unforgivable.
And for the original post to remain unanswered by anyone from Corel... well goodbye Corel, I'm glad I discovered this before my evaluation expired

For the benefit of anyone else searching for solutions to this, I found one here yesterday https://www.garron.me/en/linux/install- ... buntu.html
This relates to a problems with Ruby but seems to be caused by the same dependency issue. I followed it exactly (except for the final step).
I have now managed to open aftershot, then open, edit and export an image so am confident that it has worked.

Problem - Aftershot crashing a few seconds after opening (always just long enough to give the false hope that it was going to work). Started with Aftershot 3 but persisted after reverting to version 2. Corel had suggested reinstalling but that didn't work.



After years of not using it, I found this by checking the aftershot error log and googling some of the errors thrown up

For record, I am using Mint 20 although the solution refers to Ubuntu 20.
