Hopefully someone can tell me what it wrong here
I am using VS7 and really have had no problems. Program has run perfect for me without any flaws.
I created a DVD-R DVD that plays perfect on all dvd players.
I need to replicate this disk in my DVD Replication tower. However it fails to write the last 2 bytes and disks become frisbees.
I know that the DVD Replication tower works great as I have done other replications of a single dvd just fine.
Below are all the specs of everything
The properties of the movie are as follows:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order B
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: 4000 kbps
Audio data rate: 224 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo
Duration Length of movie is Just a hair under 132 minutes
My Configurattion of the Tower is as follows
Wytron DVD-399 Controller Card
9 Sony DVD Writers
1 Sony DVD Reader
550 Watt Power Supply
My DVD Media all says 4.7 GB and 120 minutes.... I can burn ok from computer to DVD but cannot burn duplicates in the tower.
When burning in the tower the lcd display shows that the disc created with VS7 shows 2830 and everything seems to work good until it gets to the end - The memory buffer goes to 0 and then it errors out and shows that only 2828 was written to the disk and not the 2830. The blank DVD disc is now a coaster.
Since the size of the completed movie is fine I am wondering if it is giving this error because the disc is only supposed to be 120 minutes long and yet I have 131 and a few seconds of video???
Can anyone advise what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can offer.
DVD Duplication Problem

What does the 2830 representWhen burning in the tower the lcd display shows that the disc created with VS7 shows 2830 and everything seems to work good until it gets to the end - The memory buffer goes to 0 and then it errors out and shows that only 2828 was written to the disk and not the 2830. It can't be bytes, because based on your numbers, you should be looking at a disc with over 4GB on it

oh, that's not how long you were saying it was...
(You probably wanted to say 92min , or 1hr 32min instead of 132 minutes)
Did the original burn finalize the disc

So we know it's not 2 bytes, but it is probably 2MB.I need to replicate this disk in my DVD Replication tower. However it fails to write the last 2 bytes and disks become frisbees.

So this is not the issue since you are well under 120 minutes (and the playing time should be irrelevent anyway).Since the size of the completed movie is fine I am wondering if it is giving this error because the disc is only supposed to be 120 minutes long and yet I have 131 and a few seconds of video???

fyi, in the world of dvd creation, what you are doing is Duplicating discs -- not Replicating them. Duplicating is burning copies, Replication is the act of Stamping (from a master image).I know that the DVD Replication tower works great as I have done other replications of a single dvd just fine.

Some things to check...
1) Are there any firmware updates for your Sony Burners
2) Have you used the same media for Duplicating discs before
3) Is the source dvd the same type as the target discs (i.e. same brand, and same format ±R/RW)
4) Is there a firmware update for your duplicating machine
5) Does your Duplicator have a builtin hard drive -- if so, copy the source dvd to the builtin HD, and try to work from that...

2)yes same media has been used b4
3)Yes on both
4)Latest update
5)Duplicator does have hard drive so will try that option as well and see what happens
Thanks
