Font. How do I creat something like this?

I would like to be able to use a font as shown in the attachment. Can somebody tell me how to create one that looks like it?

If you mean how to make the inside of the font transparent so the background shows thru - True Type fonts have an outline color & a fill color - In the Materials Palette set the fill to Transparent.

Thanks. I understand about the background fill. What I'd like to duplicate is the drop shadow on the right hand and bottom edges of the font. The closest standard font is Phoenix but the shadow is too thick. I need something that would titled "Phoenix, thin shadow".

I think that's part of the font itself. Probably a specialty font you'd have to buy. You can try using the drop shadow command, but then you can't have an empty fill.

I did a Google search on "Free 3D fonts" and one of the ones that came up was this:
