Re: PaintShop Pro 2018 Ultimate JavaScript (and other) Error
Hi Joe,
OK - good idea - just updated...
Yeah - I'm missing the "default" paint brushes - like "Fuzz" - and the marble looking irregular brushes... There are usually more than a dozen default brush types loaded - since the Jasc versions - I've been running X9 for about a year and they were all there - the only ones I see now are the basic square and round brushes... The default install had far more than that... Now they're gone ? Strange...
Oh wait - I recently uninstalled the Jasc version I still had on my PC - perhaps that removed them ? Then again I just reinstalled X9 so that should put them back ?
Anyway - thanks for the interest...
Regards,
Scott

Hi Scott. Have you registered your X9 with Corel . Log into your account and go to Your Products > Downloads and you can download and install Creative Content as well as the KPT Collection.
The Creative Content should give you more brushes.

Will provide you with more info.
I don't know if the Fuzz was part of the Creative Content or the Creative Collection (that came with the Ultimate version).

And yes, further to what @hartpaul told you, if you uninstalled Jasc's v.9 then you uninstalled any content and resources that were originally installed with or added to the default folders for those resources. If you installed some third party or after acquired or self created resources in different folders that you created yourself then they should still be available to point your new PSP to.

Re: PaintShop Pro 2018 Ultimate JavaScript (and other) Error
Dear All,
We apology does not give a quick action for this JavaScript error. Start from this year, we received some bug reports about JavaScript error that happened when user switching to Map View in Manage tab (mode). It causes the application cannot work anymore since this message will pop up always and block all your operation. (See snapshot below)
- Affected PSP version: Before PSPX5 ~ PSP2018 GM (PSP2018 update1 version already included this fix)
- Root cause: PSP leverages Google API to support map view display but new API requires more advanced embedded IE version (IE11) to present a correct result. Before PSP2018 update1 version, what the embedded IE version we adopted in PSPX9 and prior version is IE9.
- Solution: This hotfix can update the embedded IE version of PSPX9 from IE9 to IE11 to resolve the compatibility issue.
- Hotfix download link: http://dwnld.paintshoppro.com/updates/X ... Hotfix.exe (PS: Please noted this hotfix is only available for the PSPX9 SP2 (19.2.0.7) version)
For the user who encountered this issue, please install the hotfix and give it a trying. If you meet any unexpected issue, please reply to the forum and we will feel free to follow up. Thx.

Thanks to the Corel developers,
Corel Paintshop Pro X9 (32 & 64bit) works fine again - no script error. (!)
The hotfix has a small bug (?).
Different version information is displayed for the program Corel PaintshopPro X9 (32bit) and Corel PaintshopPro X9 (64bit).

Re: PaintShop Pro 2018 Ultimate JavaScript (and other) Error
I have 2018 (20.2.0.1 x64) and still have this problem on my laptop but not on my desktop. I believe that others have indicated the same problem with 2018 in this thread. Am I missing something?josephlin wrote:- Affected PSP version: Before PSPX5 ~ PSP2018 GM (PSP2018 update1 version already included this fix)

Same here. 2018 (20.2.0.1 x64) and I have the problem. Corel says 2018 update 1 has the fix. Maybe we don't have "update 1" yet.

Re: PaintShop Pro 2018 Ultimate JavaScript (and other) Error
There were two update 1 releases. The first one was buggy and they re-released it but didn't change any of the information about it nor did they change the update number. Also your version number in Help>About won't change either from the first update 1 to the second update 1. It wouldn't hurt to make sure that you have updated the update.pwm wrote:Same here. 2018 (20.2.0.1 x64) and I have the problem. Corel says 2018 update 1 has the fix. Re: PaintShop Pro 2018 Ultimate JavaScript (and other) Error
I purchased 2018 in November of last year, and from what I can find, the install program was the final version. I have not installed any patches since then. Also, I installed both on my desktop and my laptop from the same installation file, and I only have the problem on my laptop (Surface Pro 4, not on the desktop. So, it's still a strange problem.

Re: PaintShop Pro 2018 Ultimate JavaScript (and other) Error
So is this GPS script loop problem solved for PaintShop Pro 2018? Does update 1 fix this issue? Update 1 was released several months after the X9 fix.
I have X7 and am looking at upgrading to 2018 but I am not going to do it if that ridiculous error isn't fixed.
I haven't tried spitfrog's fix on X7. There was also some debate as to whether spitfrog's fix would work for 2018.

No, as far as I am concerned, the GPS problem for 2018 has not been resolved. Still waiting for a fix. I am not going to try anything fancy to get this to work. Corel should just fix it. It's been months now. Ridiculous!

Re: PaintShop Pro 2018 Ultimate JavaScript (and other) Error
So seeing as Corel has no interest in fixing this issue, as an IT Professional I decided to look into it. Initially, I did not have this issue. Mine worked just fine with no errors. After a reinstall though, I was getting the same error everyone here is as well as a couple of friends. The resolution is easy enough. I am surprised Corel has not found this. Are you all ready for the resolution?
hahahaha
Wait for it......
Are you ready......???
Sorry, just messing around....
What you need to do is this....
When going to launch the program, from "All Programs" RIGHT CLICK on the icon and choose "Run as Administrator" (Win 10 users will find this option under "More" when they right click) Once it launches you will not get the error. After this initial launch, you will be able to open it like normal without getting the error again.
HEY COREL!!! WORK ON YOUR TROUBLESHOOTING SKILLS. THIS TOOK ME ALL OF 2 MINUTES TO RESOLVE AND YOU HAVE HAD USERS COMPLAINING FOR MONTHS NOW ABOUT IT.
ISSUE RESOLVED.
I do want to add this however, If you click on the Globe it will come back. Also if you click through the tutorials in the beginning it will come back. I did a great deal of reading of the logs for the error last night and this does not seem to be an issue with the program itself. It is actually an issue with Coreal's account on Google. Google switched their API for their maps. Whoever is over that at Corel needs to upgrade the API on their site (Corels) and the issue should go away. They can do this by going to the developer portal for the site they are using. World Press had the same issue not long ago.
Switching browsers will not help. As part of my troubleshooting I changed my browser to Internet Explorer, downloaded and installed JacaScript, enabled it in I.E. and the error still happens.
Just uninstall PSP, reinstall it, Run as Administrator the first time, DO NOT click through the initial "tutorials" that come up. Just click the box that says "Do not show again" and then click the X to close it. And until they update their API with Google DO NOT click on the Globe inside the program.
