+1 here
On the same computer, I've PSPX9 32/64 script errors, and PSPX5 working fine with the globe *

* after a tweak for PSPX5:
Add DWORD "Corel PaintShop Pro.exe" value : 2af8 in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION

I'm not prepared to edit the registry. A step too far to make a routine "utility" program work.

I have a workaround for X9 64bit (perhaps for X8 and X7 64 too)
It's 2018 files, so this does not solve this problem for 2018

You need to replace files from
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X9 (64-bit)\Languages\EN\GeoTagging
with the content of this archive (backup files before)

You need also tweak the registry to made PSP compatibility with IE (it's important)

For me, it's work fine on Win10 16229.248 - IE11 and PSP X9.2.0.7 64b
If no, it's easy to roll back. If you still have script errors, initialize PSP with Shift key, and retry.

Hi kalidor, a french user JBLA74 spoke about Geosetter, and I found this solution on the support forum. It doesn't work for everyone, unfortunately.

Yes, I know that, it's a little more tricky for 32bit, you can try this files
There's a readme file in the archive
Geotagging for 32bit.zip
(53.96 KiB) Downloaded 314 times
I hope Corel will release a fix soon, it's annoying.

Unless I misunderstood something, Spitfrog said it wouldn't solve the problem for PSP2018. But you say it worked, and your profile says you are using 2018. So did it work for you with PSP2018?

It's a little confusing, I'm a little lost with all these files too.
What I did :
- Replacing all files from the folder Geotagging X9(32b) with X5 files
- Replacing all files from X9(64b) with 2018(64b) files, that's why I said that it doesn't work with 2018 (64b) :)
- Add a key to registry (the same for 32 and 64bit)

In fact, we don't need to replace all files, just 2 or 3 are needed, but it's more simple like that. For other language, it's become very hazardous because geotagging used english files AND foreign language files... C'est le bordel as we said back home :D

Try resetting your internet settings.
1. Press WINDOWS KEY + R
2. Type INETCPL.CPL and hit OK (this will pull up Internet Options).
3. Go to Security tab and hit “Reset all zones to default level”.
4. Go to the advanced tab and click Restore advanced settings and then go ahead and click the RESET button.
5. Check "Delete personal settings" option.
6. Click Reset.
7. Click OK.
8. Relaunch the installer and/or the software.

I couldn't see how that would make any difference, and since the 32bit version works OK, I declined to change my security settings and they closed the ticket. It's a feature I never use, so I'll just have to remember to never click the "globe" icon.

This worked for me!
I was having the same problem as you after replacing my failing hard drive and then reinstalling X9 and going through the short tutorial that hung in map mode. Worse, every time I brought up X9 it would come up in map mode so no way to use the program. The above solution apparently fixed the problem. For whatever strange reason, Corel ignores default browser and brings up Internet Explorer which I have never used. My IE has the problem with java script, possibly because it has never been upgraded. The changes to security are only for IE, so for me I could not care less.
THANKS FOR THE FIX!
---
2nd thoughts: I think that what this fix might be doing is to turn on Javascript in Internet explorer, which may now be called MS Edge.

For what it's worth, I just checked my IE security settings and I have "scripting" and "scripting of Java applets" both enabled. These were the defaults.
I use Edge or Chrome, but IE is the current release. (11.248.16299.0)
