PaintShop Pro 2018 Ultimate JavaScript (and other) Error
When I try to use the MAP function under the Manage Tab I get a javascript error. It refers to the Google Maps URL (Which my browsers - CHROME, Firefox, and IE can access) and all other fields contain "0". There is a question about whether I want to continue using scripts on the page. It does not matter if I answer "yes" or "No," I'm, stuck in an endless loop until I close the program. On the screen behind the error message is the Google Maps Map and a banner to the effect Google Maps does not support the browser I'm using to access the site (as noted, I can access the programs with my browsers). I don't know whether or not the errors are related, but I'd like to get them fixed.
I found a reference in a post to the effect there was an error in the registry producing the banner on the map, but couldn't find the error in my registry.
I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium - 64-bit version, 8 megs of memory on the computer.
I'd appreciate any help you can give.

Could you close the popup window without to answer yes or no ?

It makes no difference if I press the "Yes" or "No" buttons, or the "X" in the upper right corner. The error message disappears and immediately "Pops up" again.

Jean-Luc - I've posted a response, which hasn't made it to the board yet, but it dawns on me that I may not have been fully responsive to your question. The only way to close the window is to close the program - usually using the task manager.

If you don't close the window and click on Map or Satellite, does it work ?BLP wrote:Jean-Luc - I've posted a response, which hasn't made it to the board yet, but it dawns on me that I may not have been fully responsive to your question. We have such problem to solve on the French forum : an user said he did'nt try to close the warning message but clicked on Satellite and get what he wanted.

Re: PaintShop Pro 2018 Ultimate JavaScript (and other) Error
My actions make no difference in the outcome. Once I hit the "Globe" I get the javescript error message. If I then press the "Yes", "no" or "X" button the error message box briefly disappears, but almost immediately returns. It's as if whatever routine called it, immediately executes again. If I try to switch to "Edit" mode - I'm locked into the screen with the error box. MY only recourse has been to close the program using the Task Manager and avoid the "globe" icon.

I have the same problem in 2018 (20.2.0.1). We are not alone. This is a bug. Most annoying. I am regretting having uninstalled X9.
I can exit the program by pressing on Enter and quickly pressing on the X at the top right. Otherwise, it has to be done with Task Manager.

Bonjour Jean-Luc,
Almost. Now click on the map button, that is the globe just above your image (the left button of the three). That is when the scripting error starts.
I wonder if there is a conflict in having Edge as the default browser.

Clicking on the globe produces the display of the map : My default browser is Firefox. And I have also Chrome installed (I switch from Firefox to Chrome when needed).JCBrown wrote:Bonjour Jean-Luc,

Re: PaintShop Pro 2018 Ultimate JavaScript (and other) Error
This is likely a long-shot - have you tried: 1) resetting the program; 2) after resetting not loading a workspace you may have saved and running with the default workspace?

Re: PaintShop Pro 2018 Ultimate JavaScript (and other) Error
@Jean-Luc,
The link is for IE and not Edge. As far as I know, JavaScript is enabled in my Edge. In Edge, I can't find the same setting as indicated in the link. In Magix VPX, Travel Route Animation, we went through several months of the same scripting error in using or opening maps. It was finally resolved by Magix. This looks like the same problem.
@Mark,
I didn't have any saved workspaces, and I reset everything a few times. No luck.
Thanks for your help.
EDIT: Now, before clicking on the Map button, but with Places selected, instead of seeing the location I get a message:
"You are using a browser that is not supported by the Google Maps JavaScript API. Consider changing your browser."
I just went through how to enable JavaScript in Windows and Edge including erroneous information from MS. One users states that it is 99.9999% sure that JavaScript is enabled in Edge. I believe that it is.
Any other suggestions?

Hello,
Same issue with this function till arrival of Win 10. The bug appearead on all versions of PSP X7, X8, X9 Ultmate ( 32 or 64 bits ). Other datas are impacted : copy/paste OF gps cordinates for metadata. Why Corel did not make any correction on this issue. Why upgrading to PSP 2018 : bugs are still existing.

Re: PaintShop Pro 2018 Ultimate JavaScript (and other) Error
I'm back home now and tried out the map tool on my desktop, and it worked fine. So, the problem is with the installation on my laptop (Surface Pro 4 - SP4). Both computers have the same version of PSP2018, 20.2.0.1. However, Windows versions are slightly different: desktop is 1709 16299.192, SP4 is 1709 16299.125. Both computers have Edge as the default browser.
On the SP4, when I click on Places in the image properties, sometimes I see the map, other times no even though the coordinates are present. In both cases, there is a message at the top of the image stating, "You are using a browser that is not supported by the Google Maps JavaScript API. Consider changing your browser."
So, what is it that is causing this problem on some computers but not all computers? Could it be that slight difference in Windows versions (I doubt it)?
