Text tool stopped working in Paintshop pro 2018

My text tool just stopped working and when I click on the text tool it wont type anything , but when i try to use a letter example "D" it acts like a shortcut and same with other letters... but it wont type anything ... anyone any idea's where I may have done something myself to create this problem ....

Create an empty vector layer and try to type text on it. Tell us if you have a result...

Thanks for your help, but I have since received help from Corel Support and they advised me to clear any temp files cache and to reset my preferences and reset workspace to default.... and thank heavens it is all working well again....

To Buddy123,
I want to thank you for your suggestion of using the Preferences Reset to correct a problem with the Text Tool.
I was also having a problem that would only allow me to type one line of text and would not continue on a new line.
After resetting all the items in Preferences the Text Tool is working properly again.
Thank you very much because it was driving me crazy trying to figure out what was wrong.
