The program was working fine for about a month, and now no sound when importing clips that play with sound just fine using Windows Media Player. Have tried completely un-installing and re-installing (using Backup Disc), and still no sound.
Operating System is Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit.

Can you tell us whether this only happens with one type of video format. If so, what are the Properties of the video -- right click on a clip and copy its Properties here, or take a screenshot of the Properties box and upload it here as an Attachment,
Or does it occur with all formats?
Have you applied the updates for X10?

I hadn't tried any other formats until you asked. .avi and .mp4 both play correctly with sound. .mov does not play correctly. Even year old .mov files do not play correctly, taken with same camera.
Additional info: During the re-installation, while installing “Standard Content”, a window did pop up saying that the computer was installing NET Framework 4.5. However, that installation of NET Framework 4.5 failed, but the rest of the installation of the program continued and said that VideoStudioX10 installed correctly. As part of the installation, X10.5 Service Pack was also installed.
Attached are screen shots of the properties of the most recent .MOV file I am trying to edit (2 shots to get all of the data)
Also attached is the error log associated with the failed NET Framework 4.5, in case that means anything to you.

Hi
do you have Quicktime codec installed on your pc
view your Start menu list.
This You Tube video gives info on installing the codec only.

SUCCESS! I first checked the Start Menu, and it showed I had QT Player, but it would not load. So I watched the YouTube Video and followed the very clear instructions on uninstalling QT and then re-installing only the QT Essentials. In addition to unchecking the box for creating a shortcut icon, I also had a second box about allowing automatic QT updates, which I unchecked. That may have been how I got in my predicament in the first place. At any rate, THANK YOU, my MOV clips now have sound!
