In EDIT mode the project and clip PLAY button doesn't work

Post by IronMike778 »

Never seen this before. I can't play my project or clip in Edit mode. I press play and the needle jumps for a second but doesn't move. Any idea why? This worked fine yesterday when I was using it. Haven't been any Windows updates or anything.

I assume you have rebooted the computer and reopened VS?

Which version are you using? Your Profile doesn't say.

But one thing you might want to try is to go to C:\Users\[Your Name]\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64) and rename the folder relating to your version of VS by adding _OLD to it. If you are using VS X10, this would mean renaming the 20.0 Folder to 20.0_OLD. If its X9, then rename the 19.0 folder and so on.

This will in effect rebuild the VS database and is equivalent to resetting the program. Next time you open VS a new folder will be created in that spot. And if VS then works properly you can even delete the XX.0_OLD folder.

Note that you need to be patient when you reopen VS the first time after renaming the folder. It takes considerably longer to open as the program is in effect scanning resources and rebuilding databases.

I can't get the play catch to take a shot at the Event cuts. However, when I stack the clasp into the task the play catch works. This implies I can't see a clasp until the point that I drop it into the course of events/venture. Cleaning works on the occasion side, in any case, hitting the play catch/space bar/or utilizing the menu to play does nothing.

Sorry but you are going to have to explain your terminology for me

what does "I can't get the play catch to take a shot " mean - what is that in terms of Videostudio functions - I can't think of any situation where you would 'play' to take a shot

what is an " Event cuts." - it sort of sounds like a joint between clips - if so could you say so - events can be any short event within a video

what on earth does "when I stack the clasp into the task the play catch works." mean -- what is a clasp ?? - what task ? again what is a play catch

don't understand "Cleaning works on the occasion side," -- Cleaning ???? - - which side of what ?

could you try again using words and functions described in the user guide -- some pages of which are reproduced below
