Particle Shop in PSP will not save as transparent layer

Post by cookie1234 »

Particle shop that came with PSP Ultimate will not save my Particle Shop work as a separate transparent layer. Any ideas?
Yes, I checked the proper box that asks whether or not one wants to save the work as a separate layer.

On my side, it does.
I apply successive brushes and save each application on a separate layer.
You need to save the brushes, not the image.

Perhaps I'm not understanding how this works? I open an image, not a new transparent file, in Particleshop, because I want to add some Particleshop elements to my image.
I thought if I click save as brushstrokes (as opposed to merge), Particleshop will automatically add a separate transparent layer showing brush strokes only (atop my
image layer when it reverts back to PSP. . . So when it's saved back into PSP, I should have two separate layers. Then I can make adjustments to the brush stroke layer only in PSP.
I need to have the image there to know where to add my Particleshop strokes. How do you "save each application on a separate layer"?

My problem, turns out, has a simple solution. I thought the whited out save button was the desired save type.
It's the hollowed-out button that gives the desired save. :D

I'm saving the brush application before to pick another brush. When I apply the Light brush (Particle Shop Starter Pack), I save without merging.
I duplicate the image's layer and start again to apply the Fabric brush, save without merging, and so on...
