Sound Pop at end of video file

Post by DaisyK »

Haven't been here for awhile but I have a situation that really bugs me!

I purchased VSX10 Ultimate and have not had the problems others here experience. But at the end of my video as it transitions to a black screen there is a pop sound. It happens with the sound track ending right on the transition and also times when the sound track has ended prior to the transition. It does not happen within the video at other spots, only at the end. I always fade in and fade out my sound. I don't know what to do with this problem... it really makes the project appear to be very unprofessional. (which it is) :D The project I just finished is a recording for family not able to attend a funeral service of their family member. At the end of this recording I cut to a shot of front of sanctuary and then faded out to black background. No sound track at the end but still a pop. I haven't done a slideshow of photos for some time but I don't think it happens with photos, only videos.

Suggestions?

Hi DaisyK

Sorry you are having these problems, similar issues have been reported on the forum.
We found the problems could be replicated using sound files, your description seems a little different in that the pops described as blips are created without sound files so within the video file.

A lot of reading here
http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=61761

We did report this to Corel Support who came up with a hot fix for VSX10.5, a replacement of 4 Dll files, unfortunately not 100%.

Can you give some further info regarding your project content and your video files properties.

Some thoughts….suggestions....
If the problem is associated with the transition to black, how are you doing that?
There is a Fade to Black transition, or we can add a black colour clip / image and apply a Cross Fade transition.
Have you tried both types?
There is an option to auto fade audio when adding transitions

Otherwise you can simply add a video fade using the Customise Motion to do that set the Opacity to the last 3 seconds or so. May be a better option as you are not using a transition?
Then simply apply Fade Out from the options panel Video tab, first setting default time to 3 sec from F6 Preferences.
