Hi
The time code is not transferred during Dv_Avi capture, maybe ulead should consider this feature.
I searched google and found this site, worth reading the software description.
I have not used this software, download at your own risk. for info only

Others on the forum may know of software to use.

timedate
Trevor - the only instance that the time/date is NOT transferred is when you capture in MPEG. The MPEG standard does not allow it. Capturing to DV AVI should preserve the timecode IN THE FILE. However, I think the original poster is confused about the new camcorders. With the new digital camcorders, the time/date is no longer actually recorded in the VIDEO portion, but is encoded on the tape. SOME camcorders default to 'viewing' the time during playback which would lead one to think it is on the video.
I've seen this complaint alot and I agree. I like having the time/date show for a few seconds when watching old home video. I've yet to find a video editor that even includes the feature without having to do it manually with a title or the like.
