No hint to knowing if installation includes latest Patch

Post by iraisok »

Why doesn’t the PSPU 2018 version number ‘20.2.1.x64’ shown in Help, About hint to me that Patch 2018 Update 1 is included? I realize that upon initial installation it checked for updates and there were none. I also checked for updates after fully installed and there were none. I did not feel comfortable to d/l and attempt to install the patch. No matter, there should be some way to know it’s all there??? I do expect as a D/l’d product it SHOULD be the absolute latest. How would I know other than checking for updates that latest patch is there?

I don't know what all of the numbers mean in PSP's version but the first two numbers seem to follow the basic versioning scheme. Major.Minor The two important numbers are Major and Minor. Major is the version so 20 = 2018. Minor is the patched version. Technically Update 1 is the second version of Update 1 so 2 = 2nd Patch. They added confusion by calling the replacement update "Update 1" The other two numbers are more important to Corel than us unless they are small hotfixes outside a full service patch.

Buy yeah, normally 20.1 would be Patch 1. 20.2 would be Patch 2. It wouldn't hurt them to add the words "Update 1" at the end of the version but they assume the numbers say everything we need to know. They could also put the version number on the patch listing so people can compare for themselves.
