File Association did not make change in Windows 7 Ultimate

Post by iraisok »

Upon installation of PSPU 2018 when I went into File Association from pull-down menu and selected (checked) JPG, BMP and GIFthat did NOT make the change in Windows7 x64 Ultimate (if you needed to know my OS).

I had to go into Control Panel “Associate a File Type or Protocol with Specific Program”. There I saw Paint Shop Pro 2018 in the “DESCRIPTION” said unknown application. I had to make the change there to COMPLETE the action. That is WRONG! So, while I do not need to speak with anyone on this issue, I recommend that you correct this.

Ira -- just a gentle reminder of something else you would have read when you signed up. This Board is not run by Corel. Yes, we use their name and servers. But none of us here is a Corel employee. We are a user to user Board, and the Mods and Admin people like me, are users just like you, who volunteer their time to try to help other users.

In other words, there is little point in recommending that "we" correct something. At best, that should go in the wishlist item at the head of this forum -- though we aren't even sure that anyone at Corel reads that regularly, let alone adds things to their to-do lists!

Ken,

Excuse my choice of words. I am very familiar that you guys and gals are volunteers and appreciative that you take the time to share your knowledge. From my experience close relationship with some administrators at the Pinnacle Studio Forum, I learned that you guys are more successful at passing issues to Corel then when we contact Support. I was also curious if this was reported and as always curious if I'm the only one who cares.

As far as the discovery, it's such a basic task of the program I was surprised it was not implemented correctly. I am an advanced PC user so no problem to go into PC control panel to complete the action.

Again, thanks for being there.
