IMport video, audio, no picture

Post by Budson54 »

Hi,

I recently purchase an Olympus EM-1 Mark II. I took several short videos at 4k and when I import them into Videostudio 9 or 10 I get the audio track but the video is black.

Here are the file format details:

MOV file
frame WxH 3840 x 2160
Data rate 51895 kbps
Frame rate 29fps
From the Olympus specs:
MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 / Motion JPEG Stereo PCM 48kHz

I looked at the Videostudio specs and it appears that this format is supported.

I am just getting started with video so if more info is need please let me know.

Thanks in advance

Hi Budson54

and welcome to the forums

I believe a similar problem has been reported before, I did a search of the forum but as yet not found the post, although there were some hits.

Can you upload a sample/s to a sharing site, Google Drive, One Drive DropBox etc.
We can then download and try on our pc's.

I import 100mbs UHD 4K from Panasonic cameras with not problem. Everything appears and plays back (after proxies created) ok on the timeline.
Also curious as to the file extension of the videos. Is it MOV or MPEG4?
Also, looking at the specs for that camera, bitrate would also be around 100mbs.
As posted above, if you can upload a short sample to the cloud would help.
Also, are your graphics drivers up to date?
And welcome to the forum! BTW, nice camera!!

The one with Cinema 4K? That MOV file played back fine on my computer. I do have QT installed though, just the codec.
I do think that there is an option between MOV and MPEG4 to use when creating the video. I would opt for MPG4 myself and see. But, to have a sample would be great.
