PSP2018 - NO Twain Source

Post by PopsShop »

Just installed PaintShop Pro 2018. Downloaded from Corel site. Install went great. Program comes up with no problems. Wanted to scan in something so I went to Twain Source to choose which scanner I want to use. It showed NO scanners ! ! ! ! Couldn't find any.

What now, pro users??????? Will hate to go back to a previous version that works with my scanners just fine.

Welcome to the forum.

This subject has been discussed many times and a simple search would have produced a variety of answers.

However, when you installed PSP did you accept the recommendation to install both 32 and 64 bit versions? Very few scanners have TWAIN drivers which come in a 64 bit version. So you will get what you got if you are using the 64 bit version of PSP. If you have the 32 bit version then open that and I suspect you will find that this time it will find your scanners which use the 32 bit TWAIN. Then you can scan using it, and if you really want, you can then close 32 bit PSP and open the 64 bit version to edit the image.

Failing that, then instead of selecting TWAIN in the 64 bit PSP, choose Import instead. This will bring up a screen which is not as sophisticated as the TWAIN advanced screen, but it should see your scanner and allow you to scan in much the same way.

This also applies to many -- even most -- filters. Only a few come in 64 bit versions. Yet they will work in the 32 bit PSP. So again, if you haven't already done it, I would install both versions of PSP as recommended.

Try Import/From Scanner or Camera.

If your scanner is connected with Wi-Fi, try with USB.

Thank you folks for your responses. Yes, I installed both versions (followed recommendations). Sorry about not searching. And, yes, I started using the " Import/From Scanner or Camera " idea which works well for me.
Other than that, I love the new version.
