Folder by default ?

A French user asked in the French forum if PSP 2018 could open on a defined folder.
He works with Manage mode and wants the same folder to open each time he launchs PSP 2018.

I found a way to do it.
I add the folder's name after the executable, like this :
"C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2018 (64-bit)\Corel PaintShop Pro.exe" "F:\Images"
(quotation marks needed)

It works if PSP 2018 was closed with "Collections" selected.
It works only a few seconds if PSP 2018 was closed with "Computer" selected.
PSP 2018 reverts to the last used folder after a few seconds (last used unchecked in Preferences/Tabs).

Is it a bug or a normal feature ?

That seems to work on my system.
File > Preferences > General Program Preferences and select Manage and set Manage as Default . Click OK

Then navigate from Collections and switch to Computer. I have a folder left on my desktop calle Test (could be any folder) I select that folder and the first image is selected and appears in the preview window.
Close PSP 2018 . Wait 10 seconds or so til it finishes unloading. Then Open it againand it should open in Manage mode with that folder selected and that first image in the preview pane.

No, he doesn't want to have PSP open on the last visited folder. He wants PSP open on a specific unique folder, each time it opens.

I'm still not sure if I fully understand. Does he want PSP to open with the same, unique folder each time it opens? Or does he want to be able to open PSP with a particular unique folder during one use, and be able to open PSP with a different, unique folder another time, etc.?

That would defeat the purpose of having PSP open with the last used folder so that you can continue working on images in that same folder.
It appears that your user requires a fixed immutable opening folder no matter what or where they worked last time.

Yes !
I can force it with my command but PSP must be set on Collections when closed. When started again, it opens on the same specific folder in Collections.
The command doesn't work if PSP is closed with Computer selected. When started again, it displays a few seconds the specific folder wanted but reverts back to the last used (even if this option is not checked).
What the user wants is to open PSP in Computer with the specific folder he wants active (each time the same).

Perhaps the simplest way for him to achieve this is that, immediately prior to closing PSP, he simply clicks on that folder in Manage so that it opens with PSP the next time. I realize that might be two extra clicks (one click on the Manage tab - assuming he usually closes PSP while in Edit mode - and one click on that unique folder), but I, for one, don't know of another solution.

What is in that default folder that the person wants that is so important that they want that to be the first folder visited every time no matter what other folder you were working with last time.
