Re: Mura's Meister Plugin
Sorry.
I am working with Win 10 and psp 2019.
MurRa's Meister are the ones that do not work.
Mura's Meister filters are now patched, but still aren't working in 2019.
The reason I mentioned DEP was that I thought that might be the problem, so tried putting DEP on for 2019. Then I tried without DEP on. Neither way made the filter work.
So, to summarize,
MuRa's Meister doesn't work in psp2019 and Win 10.
They are patched and in the correct plugin folder.
I just get the above mentioned Memory Access Violation.
Appreciate your patience and help, hartpaul.
btw, was in Australia 2 yrs ago. Loved every minute. Even climbed the bridge in Sydney Harbor. I was a total tourist. Did a shark dive, too.
I apologize for creating confusion.
Thanks so much for helping me figure this out.

Re: Mura's Meister Plugin
If they are patched and you are using PSP 32 bit, then I see no reason for them not to work.
Have you got someone else to test the same files that don't work for you? e.g. send to a friend or a group to test.
If they work for others, and not you, it points to being your system.

Re: Mura's Meister Plugin
Ok lets look at the MuRa's Meister Filters
These are the ones I have and the folder I have placed them in:
I count 5 mm filters Cloud, Copies, PersTile, Pole, Tone and all patched.
They are in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2019\PlugIns\EN
When I Apply Effects > Plugins his is what I see
Now in case your filters are corrupted I have zipped the files I have that are working and attach them here:
So you may test them and see if they work.

Re: Mura's Meister Plugin
The weirdest thing just happened.
I put X9 on my computer (exempted it from DEP like 2019), rebooted and it worked in X9 but not in 2019.
What's up with that?
I have checked with friends and they have no issues with plugins in Win10 and running 2019.
And I think I mentioned that a couple of weeks ago all my plugins were working just fine.
Now some close down psp when I open them.
Ex: Mezzoforce Ice, 2Manekenai(TM)
CPK Designs, Neu and Forrests Filters did the same thing, but I was able to import into Filters Unlimited.

I think Mezzoforce is so old and has not been updated that you may have to look for another set of filters that do similar.
When you look there are so many filters out there I wonder how you can even make a decision on what to use.
In my searches I came across

Lots are repeated, many have dead links. So many filters for a procrastinator to choose from. How dod you do it?

Re: Mura's Meister Plugin
Do you know of a reason that other plugins shut down in both psp versions?
And why with the same settings Mura's Meister would not work in 2019?
Thanks for the sites. So many plugins, so little time. Fun when they work.
I'm a plugin freak, what can I tell ya? A small addiction. At least they are like fonts and don't take up much room to store and use.

Re: Mura's Meister Plugin
As I said earlier , My MuRa's Meister filters do work in 2019.
I placed those patched ones as a zip file . Have you tried those and do they work.
And as mentioned previously some of the really older ones do not get updated and fail to work.
There are so many filters out there that I guess no one else apart from you is interested in the Mezzoforce Ice filters are so old that they are not compatible with PSP. I don't know if they are still compatible with Photoshop..

Re: Mura's Meister Plugin
I was just giving mezzo ice as an example. I didn't realize how old the darn thing was.
Alphaworks is another one that shuts down my psp, and that used to work fine.
I tried your FilterMeister, but they still only work in pspX9.
All my filters worked until a couple of weeks ago.
That's why all of this is so strange.
But am still wondering why the plugins shut down psp. That was never an issue before.

Re: Mura's Meister Plugin
Probably a combination of changes to Windows 10 . Would be interesting to try those on an earlier version of Windows 8.1 and 7 . I might have to purchase another copy of PSP 2019 to allow me to put iton my Win 7 and Win 8.1 drives (since Corel has reduced the number of legal instals to 2 computers , instead of the 3 previously.)
Funny that you are having trouble with running those MuRa Meister filters as they run correctly on my Win 10 version 1803 build 17134.407.
But I have not yet installed the update to PSP 2019 and it is still 21.0.0.119.
How does that compare with your Windows 10 and PSP version.
I just moved the files to my X9 program and they all work there as well.
So MM works in X9 and 2019 on my win 10 but only in X9 on your win 10 computer.
Suggests that there may be something wrong with your install of PSP 2019 (or you have the update 1 instaklled and it is stuffing things around.) I might have to bite the bullet and also install the Update 1 and see if that stuffs it up.
Would be interesting if anyone else with 2019 updated can download the zip files of the patched mm Mura filters and copy them as detailed above and test if they can get it to work.

Re: Mura's Meister Plugin
I have Win 10 and all these filters work fine in my PSP 2019 except for Mezzo-Ice.
Malas, the programmer renewed his website a few years ago and I was able to get newer versions of his Mezzo-Ice and Metaleaser but he built in an end by date so they stopped working after a few years and cannot be reinstalled. His website is now gone.
Mezzo-Snow v2 works fine for me in PSP 2019. Mezzo-Ice works fine for me in PSPX.
I tested today pre the PSP 2019 update and after. The update made no difference. Re the update. I had no problems with the install via the popup message when I closed PSP down.
The Filter Factory filters work fine as a normal 8bf files or imported into Filers Unlimited.
I tested the filters you mentioned, CPK Designs, Forrest, Neu and Mura Meister.
I have 1,000's of filters, old and new, and have no issues in PSP except for the obsolete MezzoForce and Dragonfly in some versions. I can't recall any other filter set that is not working for me.
I've never had to change my DEP security settings to allow filters to work.
The only 2 dll files I add to my SysWOW64 folder to allow filters to work are plugin.dll [for Photoshop filters] and Msvcrt10.dll [for Filter Factory filters].
Filter Meister filters do not normally require added dll files and if they do, they come with the install file, but some may require patching.
Some old filters are still being updated so I always get the latest version.
If all these filters worked fine for you a few weeks ago and now do not, then that surely points to it being your system, which I suggested previously.
Perhaps either the OS or PSP has had files go missing.
If it had been a recent happening I would have suggested you using a Restore Point and go back to before that time. You could check but it would be unlikly you would have one that far back after all this time.
Other option is to Restore a Backup Image if you make them. I did that recently to fix my PSP problem as suddenly I was getting error messages that PSP 2018 and PSP 2019 had been tampered with and required reinstalling. None would open, and I could see nothing wrong and Protexist was running so I restored my previous Backup Image and got both versions working again.

Re: Mura's Meister Plugin
I now have X9, 2018 and 2019 installed.
I exempted X9 and 2018 and 2109, from Dep,rebooted and X9 And 2018 ran the Mur's Meister in all but 2019.
I am thinking about uninstalling or just resetting 2019 and see if that helps, altho redoing the file locations takes quite a bit of time.
Suggestions on that?
I am so tired of things not working.
I have been trouble shooting for over a week now.
It'd be worth it if I could get the #@%&* to work.
I just wena tback and installed psp7. When I tried Alphaworks I got the following message:
"The plugin generated a general protection fault".
That's a new on on me.
Ideas?

Re: Mura's Meister Plugin
I do not have jasc PSP 7 . My earliest is 8 and now I rarely use that except to check on a problem that others are having.
Is there anything in PSP 7 that you cannot do in later versions of PSP?
Re file locations. I found it easier to open Wordpad and then copy the non program specific file locations used into that.
eg these are non program specific - they could be copied into any version of PSP capable of running them
C:\Program Files\Google\Nik Collection
C:\Users\*UserName*\Documents\My Filters Unlimited
In PSP 2019 these are specific to that program
C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2019\PlugIns\EN
I note in 2018 and 2019 that another Corel one has appeared:
C:\Program Files (X86)\Corel\Plugins
Which is empty and I am unaware of how it is used or going to be used in the future.
I have never had to play around with DEP and it is currently set to Turn on DEP for Essential windows programs only.
I think I did have problems installing a program sometime back and that was solved by removing the program setting up a new administrative account, looging out of my current one, installing for all users in the other account and then logging out and back in with my usual account.

Something is wrong on your system if you need to exempt PSP in DEP to get the filters to work.
Re Alphaworks, It works perfectly in my PSPX. I don't have PSP7 installed anymore.
Are you using the latest version of Alphaworks v.3.2?
Cybia updated the filters in 2011 so they would not cause problems on newer systems.

Just downloaded Alphaworks from
http://grafnet.com.pl/Filters
via
http://www.cybia.co.uk/theworks.html
an Exe file that installed with no problems in
C:\Program Files (x86)
Then directed in File Locations to
C:\Program Files (x86)\TheWorks
and it worked in PSP 2019
