Mura's Meister Plugin

I run PSP 2019 and Win 10

I just found this thread.
I have tried the patched Copies, but it didn't work.It shut down PSP.

I did get MuRa's Seamless imported to Filters Unlimited, but not Mura's Meister or Copies or Cloud.

I did have them at "read only", so I removed that. Which is odd, because they worked before. They only stopped working a few weeks ago.

Even the ones I got to patch won't open nor will they import to Filters Unlimited. I get the message that they aren't an FM filter. Others I couldn't patch at all.

When I try to use a filter I get the following message:

Memory Access Violation
Filtermeister Run Time Exception
ds = 00X002B

I have no idea what that is, but more importantly how to fix it.

I am totally at a loss now.

I hope I have explained my problem clearly.

The reason why Mura's Seamless Imported into Filters Unlimited is because it is a Filter Factory filter. The other Mura filters are Filter Meister filters. One can normally tell if it is a Filter Factory filter because the file size is generally 56kb and no larger. So if you check the file size of the other Mura filters you can see they are not FF filters.
My Mura Copies is version 1.3 and it required Patching with the FM Patcher. It works fine for me in all 32bit versions of PSP.
I just ran a test and found my unpatched version and patched again, and there were no issues on my Win 10 system.
I think the error is related to the DEP issue which the Patcher fixes.
Did you check that you are not running the program as Admin, as that can cause problems.

I have exempted it from DEP.

I don't understand about running the program as Admin. Do you mean psp??

You should never have to exempt PSP/filters for DEP. All my Plugins work in any PSP 32 bit version and I've never made exemptions in DEP.
The FM Patcher fixes the problem with any affected FM filters.

If you right click the program or the program shortcut icon and choose Properties in the Context Menu, you will see on the Compatibility Tab an option to run as Admin. If that is set then certain programs do not work as expected as it heightens the security.

Do you know about the memory access violation and what would cause that?
If I could figure that out, I might be able to fix the darn thing.
So far nothing I've tried has worked.

Now I'm on a "mission" to get the FM filters working.

The Memory Access Violation is usually related to DEP [Data Execution Prevention]. DEP came in with the Vista OS and added another layer of security. In Vista some FilterMeister filters crashed due to that error message. The FM Patcher was introduced to covert those filters that were affected so they would work in Vista, and ongoing OS's. Once the affected filters were patched they worked normally in Vista onward with DEP.

Have looked at the Mura's filters and found three types

1. ones starting with mm eg mmCloud, mmCopies, mmTone, mmPole
I obtained them from here:

and which need to be patched with the FM[patcher tool :

I placed those in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2018\PlugIns\EN

and they appear in Effects > Plugins as MuRa's Meister.

2. ones starting with ms, eg msEdge, msMirror, msSeamlessColor etc obtained from here:

they were unzipped into a separate folder in Documents called MuRa's Filters.

These were Imported through Effects > Plugins > I.C. NET Software > FiltersUnlimited 2.0

3. one starting with mp ie mpSeamless.8bf which I could not get to work at all.
It was the bottom one on this page and labelled as MuRa's Professional Filters.

It would not patch and could not be imported and would not do anything when placed in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2018\PlugIns\EN

folder. It appeared in the list of filtyers as MuRa Pro. I couuld change the x y position but any other changes seemed to have no effect either on the preview or the image. It did not crash PSP or give any error message. Just applied with little difference.

Mura Pro Seamless [mpSeamless] works fine for me, although it isn't what I use to make seamless tiles.
It is just a matter of playing with the sliders until the image gets overlapped and mixed enough to make it seamless.
The best way to understand how it works is look for some PSP Header or Tag Tutorials that use it.

I started with what was listed first.
I did exactly as directed.
I took off the exemption for DEP (as it didn't work with DEP excepted).
I got the same message:
Memory Access Violaton
Filtermeister Run Time Exeception
ds = 00X002B

*sigh*

Seamless imported just fine into Filters Unlimited.

The Mura Meister FM filters will not work in the newer versions of PSP unless they are patched with the FMPatcher.
e.g. finethreshold, mmCloud, mmCopies, mmPersTile, mmPole and mmTone all work for me and they all required patching.

I just did a test with mmCopies and placed an unpatched version in my folder. I did get it to work in the old PSPX but not in newer versions.
Once I replaced the patched version it worked fine in newer versions.

I don't understand why you can't Patch the files with the FMPatcher. That could be caused by the way you installed it or some security issue.
Have you considered moving the filters to a different drive or place. e.g. I know some people store their Plugins in the base C Drive and this can cause security issues with them.
I've been using my FMPatcher since it was released in about 2008, and it has always worked for me if the filter was a FM filter and if it required patching.

They patched just fine with the ones I downloaded.
I only have psp7 (old one) and psp2019 on my computer as I had to do a windows reset a while ago and never put the others back.

I have had the filters in both System 86 Corel/en, and in my regular plugin folders in My PSP Files.

I can't think of anything else.
It must be something related to your system. I don't have PSP7 installed anymore but the Mura filters work fine for me in PSPX and the last 2 PSP versions. They also did in all my previous versions.

Leslie, you are confusing me at the top on this page you mention you are working with Windows 10 and PSP 2019 and then at the bottom you mention it does not work with Jasc PSP 7 .
Then in between you mention DEp violations and patching fine , not working etc.
Are you trying to get what filter working with PSP 2019 or going back to PSP7 . Lets simplify, name a filter that you cannot get working and the version of PSP.
I can only test back to PSP 8. So might be better to concentrate on PSP 2019

EDIT: after further testing I can get all three types of MuRa's filters working in PSP 2019 and also Jasc PSP8
