Using PSP X9 on Windows 8.1
I have a pesky little issue.. nothing serious, just that I haven't seen it addressed anywhere and am curious about whether or not it can be remedied..
Say I have an project with multiple layers and one of them has to be rotated.
I highlight that layer and click Image/Free Rotate/and the number of degrees, usually 90 degrees.
Instantly a message appears informing me Paint Shop Pro has encountered a problem causing it to shut down. Then it does just that.
I can rotate the entire project right or left - no problem. And I can usually rotate the layer in question right, but not left. And sometimes I can rotate it left without an issue, but that does not happen often. I have learned to save my work before attempting this step.
Oh, when I restart it, I am informed that the temp file is broken or missing, so my work has not been saved.
Nothing serious.. just annoying.

Using PSP X9 19.1.0.29 I have attempted to duplicate your problem with no success.
I tried using the radio button that says 90, also by typing 90 into the free rotate dialog and no freeze or crash.
You might try resetting your PSP making sure to save your workspace if you have customized it much.

Just a note.. I installed Version X9 on another computer and the issue is still there, so I am thinking this is a glitch with this particular CD. Is this possible?

Which version of PSP X9 are you using. As mentioned above mine is 19.1.0.29. I still do not get a problem with that on Free rotate.
I know that there are updates available , but I just don't update something that is not broken for me. The updates probably correct something that I don't use or would rarely use s have not come across the problem and so mine is still at that earlier version.
I do however have an updated version on a laptop so once I confirm your version I can try on that .

OK Muriel , have tested with the various systems I have but on Windows 10.
Various versions of PSP X9 and some reproduced your crash and others did not.
The versions
19.0.0.96
19.0.1.8
both produced the crash when an attempt was made to change the free rotation by clicking the up/down arrows to change the degrees.
19.0.2.4 and
19.1.0.29
both did not crash so you need to install updates to get to at least 19.0.2.4.

Thank-you for your attention to this issue and your quick response.
My version is 19.0.0.96 It seems as though this is one of the versions that have this issue. How can I rectify this? It is not the end of the world but it is a pesky inconvenience.
Oh, and now it is installed on a computer running Windows 10.

Click the Download button for Update 4 and when it is downloaded you will have :
PSPX9_Update4.exe which should be about 213 218 KB
Double click the exe file and it will install the update and bring you up to 19.2.0.7 as mentioned on that site.
Go to this page at Corel

My Goodness! I really wasn't expecting a reply this quickly. Thank-you so much!
While I was waiting, I did exactly as you instructed. I checked for updates and installed the update #4 and the short trial seems to indicate that we have successfully dealt with this issue! If this actually proves to be the case, I am thrilled to pieces!
