I am currently working on a video where I have to add PowerPoint slides (.jpgs) over certain sections of a video clip. It is a training video done by a clinical psychologist for employee use. Because there is multiple bullet points per slide I want to highlight which bullet point the presenter is talking about in the video clip. I thought that maybe I could use the masking tool to do this, but I can't seem to simply highlight a section. The masking tool will cut out the section I want highlighted but deletes the rest of the slide. Is there a way to highlight in yellow or other color, a certain section of the slide with any of the tools in Corel Videostudio Ultimate x10? I thought about even going the long way around and just highlight the text in PowerPoint and then adding multiple stills in the video but the version of PowerPoint I have doesn't allow you to highlight text. Any help is very much appreciated!
Thanks!
Monica

By far the easiest way is to open up an additional overlay track and put one of the markers from the "Objects" library in it and size and move it as required - see attachment
if the symbols in the object library are not to your liking make your own in a reasonable image manipulating programme which can proce pictures with transparent backgrounds

Hi Monica
Video Studio can access the Corel Guide, press the orange circle next to the Library Icons.
Select the Do More tab and download the Free Samples.
They will be saved to C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\Bonus Content
There are more PNG images that may be useful to highlight your text (used as BJC description above)
also add a color clip to the overlay track, resize to cover the text, then set the transparency so the text shows through.
Similar effect to using a highlight pen on paper.
