Problem Alpha Channel Issue

Post by 3deoskill »

Hi guys,

I am a 3D freelancer and use Paintshop Pro X9 for texture creation etc.

I have a big problem with my Alpha Channels. (Support sucks)
Example: I have a picture and for instance create a rectangle selection and save this selection into the alpha-channel....ok this is the common method.
My selction now is saved into the alpha channel. Everything is fine.
But once I save this image as *.tif , *.tga, *.png, whatever format which supports alpha-channels, and load it in Paintshop Pro X9, it shows me the Alpha-Channel transparent.
All RGB informations are lost.

The support said that Painthop can´t handle Alpha-Channels and doesn´t support them.
Ts so why do I have the option to save it into the alpha-channel, when it is allegedly not there.

The common way to show the tranparency in the alpha channel is to load the alpha channel as selection and create a mask out of the selektion.

When I load this picture, which I have saved in Paintshop into Cinema 4D no problem, Cinema reconizes the RGB Picture and I can switch on/off the Alpha. Or Unity Game Engine also can handle this.
The support really said, it can´t save Alpha Channels , are they serious....?

Sorry for bad English.......
