Installation Registry Problem (VideoStudio 9)

Hi,
I've just bought VS 9 but have been unable to install it! It seems to install and then goes to the update registry mode and does not complete this. I've now tried 3 times and for the last time, I left the software 'installing' overnight and on the next morning, the registry update had still not been completed.

Can anyone advise please?

Did you just do a simple uninstall/reinstall? If so you need to do some housecleaning before trying to reinstall VS9. Ulead is real bad about leaving things behind.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply - yes, I did just try a reinstall.

I've now followed your steps (except for the SmartSound one as I have some of these files installed from another application which I don't want to lose!) - still the same result as the previous one - sticking at the update registry screen!

I'd appreciate any other advice.
