I have used Ulead 9, and 10, Pro X 3,4 6,7,8, 9 and now have 10. In each of these, I use the same titling for my YouTube "program" credit roll. In earlier versions, I had to re-create all of the titles. Since 6, I found that I could open 7, retrieve a project from the "My Projects" folder that was created in 6 and place it in the timeline. None of the clips would show, as the file paths were different, but the titling would show. I would then copy all the titles into the library. The problem with this is that not all of the titles are in each episode, which means I have to look through many episodes before I can rebuild the library, or I have to bring one of the titles into the timeline, edit the text, size and location and then save it into the library. I keep them in "My Favorites" of the title library.
All that said, what I would like to know is, where are the "My Favorites" (Title) files kept? There HAS to be a folder in the program, if even a temp folder, that contains these titles. I have searched long and thorough and can't even find the Lorem Ipsum in any folder associated with Corel or Ulead.
It just seems to me that it would be quite simple to find that folder inside any of the previous versions and copy the contents into the same folder inside of 10. Presto! All my favorite titles in my library!
As an aside, I found that I can NOT import previous project files into 8 or 9, but 10, so far, has opened them.

Re: Moving Title library from version to version
First you better keep X7 and X9 a bit longer even if you decide to move to X10.
The title file is VS_Title.dat and it is located here
C:\Users\*****\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\19.0\en-US
or 17.0 ... 14.0 atc.
But it's good to have all those titles also as a single long VSP file.

Re: Moving Title library from version to version
Hi Guys
I would simply create a VSP from X7, add all my titles to the timeline, save as “my text favourites.vsp”
Opening that in X10 will allow me to drag the text to the library, job done.
Asik, the library structure has changed over the years and simply replacing VS_Title.dat may not do the trick with other files requiring change.
When replacing any file there is a risk of corrupting the program resulting in a re-install and the possibility of loosing all your text samples.
The safest option is the VSP approach.
If you do feel that replacing files is the way to go, create a VSP first just as insurance, your choice of course.

Re: Moving Title library from version to version
I just have the same problem.
I have copied the whole folder from the old PC to the new HD of the new PC
and now I have all "my favourites" of the old VS-Installation also in the new VS-installation.
GREAT.
I have documented this good information for the next time of new installation of VS

Re: Moving Title library from version to version
It isn't working properly in VS2020 as the title tool has few cosmetics changes and it's better to transfer favorites thru a vsp and then just modify in 2 clicks

Re: Moving Title library from version to version
I've used the VSP "transfer" method for every upgrade since version 7. Only had a couple small glitches that were easy to update. If I recall there was only one that had an effect that couldn't be fixed in VS2020.
