Good Morning..
Eons ago I created this (blue) porcelain image from the original (brownish) one, documenting every step in the old PSPuser Group, the forum of which has been discontinued. I recall it was a trial and error process based on an old Version 6 tutorial that is no longer out there. It involved creating a negative image at some point.
Once again, appealing to the Great Minds that hang out here, can anyone help me figure this out?
Many thanks,
Muriel!

Really quick, what was the name of this forum? And have you tried looking on the waybackmachine to see if it had been archived? https://archive.org/web/

Good Morning,
Thank-you for your reply.. and yes, I have indeed checked out the Waybackmachine and there is no sign of it. This is the URL for the original site and while they have retained the tutorials and such, the forum portion has vanished.

This may not be exactly what you're looking for - but, the Colorize command, with it's Hue & Saturation controls gives some interesting results.

Thank-you for your reply..
It is late, so in the morning I shall play with the Colourize/Hue and Saturation Combo and see what happens.. I shall post interesting results.

Re: Recreating a Porcelain Image
Try Effects > Time Machine > Cyanotype. Because it has a border around the final image that cuts a bit close, use a paint brush to put some dots of color well outside the image so that you can then crop the figure away from the frame.
Copy and paste the image onto a larger transparent canvas and then fill the canvas with the background lilac color.. Switch to the layer with the figure and use Adjust > Hue and Saturation > Hue/Saturation/Lightness. Reduce the saturation a bit. You can also use Brightness and contrast to get closer to the figure effect.
With the figure layer selected you can also change the blend mode to see if you like any effects that produces.
Lastly Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow and use a slightly darker lilac so you can see the drop shadow. Select to have it on a new layer.
Then use the Pick tool to shear and skew the shadow to the position you want it and use a Gaussian blur to soften the shadow.
My quick attempt:

YOU ARE AMAZING!! I cannot thank you enough! I thought I had lost this technique forever!!! You even got the shadow! I recall that I used Eye Candy Perspective Shadow plugin for that..
Did I mention you are amazing?
