Kerning, Line Spacing etc.

Post by Loopy »

I have lost the kerning and line spacing options on my Text toolbar.

I have searched under All Commands and Unused Commands and can not find them to put them back on the tools bar.
As suggested in another area of the forum, I reset the text bar to default but still can't find these commands.

This is very annoying. I wonder why they don't focus on giving us a good working program instead of putting a new one out every 5 minutes.
Good way to make money but not good for the users.

There are many issues in X9....brushes for one.

Ok off topic. Just need to find Kerning and line spacing.

Thank you.

Hi Loopy,

I assume you got this problem after installing the latest patch for 2018?

The options have been moved to a sub-menu in the toolbar. If you have the text tool selected, look at the last entry in the toolbar, the button with the 3 dashes (burger style).
Click on it and you'll see a sub-menu opening that contains these options.

There's also a button at the bottom which allows you to add the options to the toolbar directly again.

Hi Khuri and thanks for the quick reply. This is in PSP X9. The 3 lines at the end of the toolbar with the little arrow are just for
line style. I did reset the toolbar to default but they still aren't there.

Leading (which is line spacing), kerning and tracking are all showing in your screenshot. Isn't that what you were looking for?

Clicking the Customize button allows you to put a checkmark beside those items, which will then appear on your tool options bar as they used to. You can also uncheck things you don't want to appear on the toolbar and they will be placed in the hamburger dropdown instead.

The difference between this and the old way is that with those three items on the tool options bar some of the options extended beyond the width of some monitors, and then instead of a hamburger menu to access them there was an arrow pointing to the right which would expand those options but cause some other ones to collapse and be replaced by such an arrow.

I would like to see all tool options bars made as customizable as all toolbars are so that I can add/remove my own preferred options, but that's not the case.

Yep you're right....that's what I was looking for. My old brain disappoints me often. I just saw Line style and looked no further.
Thank you so much...
