How do I get a trial version of PSP 2018 32bit
Good day folks.
For reasons I won't bore you with (Windows 10 being forced on me so my old my PSP fails) I'm looking at a couple of options, one of which is PSP 2018, I downloaded a trial version but that's 64 bit which is useless for me.
Can anyone advise where I can get a 32bit trial version?
Thanks
Dave

Corel pushes the 64-bit version. Since PSP X9 you can only download the 64-bit trial version.
If you buy PSP, you get both versions.
If you buy PSP, you get both versions.

Apparently Corel has it set up so that trial versions are downloaded based on your system. If you have a 64-bit system you get the 64-bit version. I seem to recall a discussion on this earlier in the forum and someone from Corel (I forget who) was going to look into it as many people with 64-bit computers want to trial the 32-bit version to test older plug-ins.arturox wrote: Can anyone advise where I can get a 32bit trial version?

You could contact Corel directly and ask for a 32-bit trial.
http://www.corel.com/en/support/
The worst they can do is say no.

Re: How do I get a trial version of PSP 2018 32bit
Thank you both for the info, appreciated.
I do have another question that support can't seem to answer regarding the PSP 2018 I've been forced to install.
When you run PSP 2018, and when it is just past the splash screen it doesn't drop directly into PSP but instead opens a "Welcome" twaddle screen which for me is a waste of time and space, I want to go directly to an empty Workspace and get on with my work as per previous versions.
I have my Workspace defined, Saved and marked as such, but it appears I cannot access PSP until I click on an image... Which I don't want, I mostly want it to start up in an empty Workspace.
How do I get rid, switch off, do away with, forever, this rubbish.?
Thanks

Go to File -> Preferences -> Tabs and set it up to open the way you want. Mine is set to open in the Edit Workspace and I've done away with Adjust and Manage since I don't use them.

Funny old world 'innit.
About 30 seconds after my last posting, I was reading another forum posting about another configuration and happened upon that very answer....
But thank you for posting, appreciated.

This is something I tend to repeat in threads like this one, simply in the hope that it will help to limit the number of posts repeating the same types of questions: When starting out with a new (or upgraded) program - not just PSP - it behooves people to first check out all of the settings available in menu items called things like Preferences, Settings, or Options. Going back at least to X7 there was a similar option to choose the default opening page, except it was called Default Launch Workspace instead of Tabs.arturox wrote:Funny old world 'innit.

I have found myself also being guilty at times of not being as diligent as I should in following my own advice, unfortunately.

Re: How do I get a trial version of PSP 2018 32bit
Unfortunately they keep moving the goalposts, ie: moving configs to different places, and not all of Us update to every new version as it arrives.
Everyone including support is telling me I have to purchase first to get a 32bit 2018 and I say (expletive) what use it that, I need a trial 32bit version to test my Plugins...
There's absolutely no point in me purchasing anything if my plugins don't work.
I've had enough 'toilet solids' in recent weeks being forced by MS and computer manufacturers to have Win 10 installed as an OS, and thereafter much treasured and used apps failing to install, or even after installing failing to work.

Re: How do I get a trial version of PSP 2018 32bit
I guess we all had a favorite program that worked back in earlier versions of windows, but now no longer work under the modern systems. sometimes because they had severe security flaws that make them no longer useful and there are so many alternatives. eg Adobe Flash being killed off by 2020. Then there are earlier versions of programs that we became familiar with, and improvements became irrelevant to what we did or were backward steps (eg the change of save to save as in PSP X8 - which was then reversed and not continued for X9 and 2018).
So it is with plugins, some favorite ones have and probably never will be upgraded and so we search for alternatives (patched versions), or finally have to give them up.
Arturox, although you might not be able to get your hands on a 32 bit version of PSP to test your plugins, you could still list your plugins that you have concerns for and see if others have been successful with them in PSP 2018.
This still will not guarantee that they will work with your system, but perhaps give you a better idea of their possibilities.

Re: How do I get a trial version of PSP 2018 32bit
Corel still offers the 32-bit of PSP2018 trial for evaluation. After you click the "Download trial" button and the browser will bring you to the another page. In that page, you should able to see the 32-bit version download indicator as the attached snapshot. Hopefully it can help.

Re: How do I get a trial version of PSP 2018 32bit
Aha! "Non so blind as them that can see", unfortunately I didn't see that link because when that window popped up, that part was covered by two sizeable frames showing what to do with the downloaded file.
Thanks, I extracted the link from your picture and removed the two frames I was getting...
But then an even bigger and serious problem, like the 64 bit download, after downloading, it then rushes off and auto installs without my consent in a place such apps are absolutely NOT allowed to install on my computers. FFS.
Necessitating an immediate total and deep clean unistall. Gordon Bennett...
Fortunately it did deposit the download 32bit archive in a suitable place, so after the uninstall I was able to install manually to the correct (for my computers) place.
Can't say the same for the auto Update 1. That downloded somewhere I can't find... Another security breach.
Anyway, moans aside, thanks for the link.

I didn't think trial versions allowed updates. So did you manually download Update 1 or did it automatically download when you downloaded the 32 bit trial version?

Re: How do I get a trial version of PSP 2018 32bit
At the end of the (Now manual) 32bit trial install, the tick box on the finish window was already ticked, so closing that window instigated the auto download to "somewhere I know not where" on the computer, then it went through the install process.
On my second win 10 computer, I (Obviously again) manually installed the 32bit trial, but then went off and found the Update 1, manually downloaded it to where I want it and thereafter installed.
Bottom line, the 32bit PSP 2018 is installed where I require it.
It is up to date. it is working okay as are my 32 bit Plugins.
I'll play with it for a day or two then decide if I want to splash the dough.
Thanks for the advice...
Dave
Afterthought... Is it still possible to purchase PSPX8? from Corel as an update for my W10 (Expeletived up) PSP 9.01? (That's X8 not 2018).
