Corel Painter Popup in Photoshop?

Post by KeriWTX »

Hi all! New here to the boards, and I searched for an answer before posting this so forgive me if I ask something that has been asked many times before.

Seems like every single day Painter Essentials 2018 has a popup that comes up at the bottom right corner whenever i'm running my Photoshop - it doesn't matter what version.

It is getting really annoying and frustrating.

I'm not very technically savvy so would need everything in Layman's terms lol.

All my software is up to date.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated. :)

I am wondering if KeriWTX meant PaintShop Pro instead of Photoshop... In other words, just a typo. But it would be useful if he could confirm exactly which program he was referring to. And if indeed he meant that, why did he post outside the PSP forum?

You are right, though, that our Board does not look after Painter or Painter Essentials... though PSP in its recent versions, including X9 and 2018 both include the Particle Shop plug-in from Painter...

Sorry as I said I'm new here, how about instead of being critical just pointing a newbie to the right place?

Hi

Can you please confirm which program you are actually using.

I do not have the latest version of Corel Paint Shop Pro 2018 but I never see any popups from my tool bars.
I do however see a popup window, either when launching the program or closing, adverts for me to purchase the latest versions.

As far as I know there are some settings via preferences to disable Messages which should do just that. Although I have to say many users do find it difficult to remove the popups.

But first can you tell us which Corel program you are using?

Thanks! I have Corel Painter 2017 and I did the trial for 30 days but decided at this time I can't afford it. I tried removing it from my hard drive but I'm still getting the pop up messages.

I'll try and remember to get a screenshot tonight when I get into my Photoshop if it pops up again.

Hi Guys

Messages are saved to two folders on our C:Drive.
Removing those should cure the popup, but could also affect other Corel programs, maybe affect the access to the Corel Guides.
Try deleting message folders by "Date Modified" at the time you installed the program.
Otherwise delete the lot.

Delete the CONTENTS in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Messages
This folder is hidden so type %appdata% into Windows Start search to find the roaming folder
Then
Delete the CONTENTS of the Downloads and Messages folder in C:\ProgramData\Corel

That should stop the annoying popup.
