Hi
I've never had a Go Pro but looking at getting the new Go Pro 6 camera. I have been using a 1080 Panasonic HD Camera, and for most of the time happy with the end results on my Large Screen 4 K T.V. after processing through Video Studio 8
My question is this, will Video Studio 8 be able to handle the high quality footage? I've seen most of the tutorials on You Tube re. settings etc. for Video Studio 8 and can set these up.
What would happen if you filmed in 4k at 60FPS when the only options I'm getting in the rendering process is at 50 FPS (Using MPEG-4)
Also there is some mention on the Hero 6 of shooting up to 240 FPS.
Don't want to waste my money If I can't process it through my Video Studio 8
Also, can a Go Pro really replace a conventional camcorder?
Any replies appreciated
Darrell.

Re: Go Pro Hero 6
This is a brand new GoPro which I don't think is available yet. I don't think anyone can tell if even the new VS will handle its files. For sure 4K at 60fps will need a pretty powerful pc to handle, and more than likely the use of proxy files in order to edit the files. Updating your version of VS to the latest version with a better chance of handling the files is not very expensive and I would not make this a reason to not buy the new GoPro camera.

Re: Go Pro Hero 6
Hi Darrell
We can use Video Studio to render to many frame rates, 25fps, 30fps, 50P, or 60P with other options available.
When we install the program we have the option to choose a TV standard, Pal or NTCS our choice determines what settings the program uses by default.
Our project properties and render templates will use either Pal or NTSC, You are in the UK and have chosen Pal as your default settings.
We can manually set Project Properties / render templates to use NTSC and indeed you will be able to render using 60P.Settings menu – Movie Profile Manager can also be used to create our own templates to 60P
Show Messages………………………
The program can automatically set project properties to match our video file via Preferences ( F6 ) make sure Show Messages is selected, adding a compliant / friendly video will prompt us to change the project properties.
Share
From share we have the option to choose Same as project Settings or Same as First Clip, these will use the correct settings for your 4K 60P video.
The 240fps recording, I assume will create a Slow Mo video.
The camera records to 4X the nominal rate 4 x 60 = 240
If it were a Pal camera that would be 200fps…………..4 x 50 = 200
The onboard software would save the video to playback at 60/50fps
A 10 second recording taking 40 seconds to play back.
Clearly the camera you are viewing is a NTSC version, don't GoPro sell a Pal version for the UK market?
Doing a google search it appears the Hero6 can be set to NTSC or Pal............
