Definitely another bug, and I have the same as you. I doubt that, in the history of software and software updates, no company has ever released an update with such an incredible number of incredibly disastrous bugs! Did nobody at all actually test this update in real world situations with a retail copy of PSP2018? Heads should roll after this fiasco IMHO.

This should also serve as an example to those who always uninstall their previous versions when acquiring a new one, something I have always advised against when asked in posts because of the possibility of bugs in the new software. I didn't realize, however, that the advice would also be necessary in the event of the almost complete destruction of the new version with an incompetent update.

So when is Corel going to address this issue ? Nothing on their web site or this forum from them about this issue.

I spent quite a bit of time reverting back to the older version, now it keeps asking if i want to update to Service Pack 1. How many more peoples systems will get screwed up, if it keeps telling them there is an update that we have seen is badly full of defects and major bugs?

Waiting for a response from Corel on this !!

Corel have removed the update from their updates page. With luck, if you try to update as per the popup you won't be able to do so anyway, so it shouldn't affect those who haven't downloaded it before it was removed. On the other hand, I don't know for a fact that you can't update from the popup. :-( That's because I didn't bother doing an uninstall/reinstall of 2018 but have just reverted to my already installed X9 version (which has all of the workspace and preferences settings I had done set in 2018) while waiting for a fix for 2018.

If you have none of the reported problems then best to continue as is. But check every error reported just to be sure.
I will be currently treating it as a ticking package and wait til a new bunch of testers try it out. Sorry guys I dislike uninstalling and reinstalling.

That's what I thought.
Never thouch it, as long as it runs properly.

And, note to myself: Never ever use Corel's "Early bird deal" again.

2.1.0.15 was the version after the first "Update 1", which was drawn back by Corel - and it's my current version number.

Did you have to set your personal preferences again after the latest update?

For those wanting (or brave enough!) to try the newly released, updated version of Update Pack 1, Radim has posted the link in the first post on page 1 of this thread: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 53#p347853

I have just added that new pack to PSP 2018 which I had updated with the earlier release of Update Pack 1. And apart from so far having to add some of my plug-ins again, everything else now seems to work properly, including the tabs function...

I have used the new update, simply installing it over the program that already had the buggy update. Everything seemed to work fine except that, in the layers palette toolbars - top and bottom, I only got text where the icons should be. I tried resetting those toolbars and now I don't even get the text. Whether that's a bug in the new update I don't know. Anyone else have the problem? See here where I posted the issue:

http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=62456

EDIT: After closing and restarting 2018 I at least got the text back, because I got my own workspace back, although that workspace is one where the text shows in that palette rather than icons. So still don't know how to get the icons back without trying something that might lose me my otherwise customized workspace.

Otherwise, everything else seems to work although, like others, I've had to redo all of my preferences and file locations settings. All plugins are showing after setting their file locations, so for those who have previously reported not showing plugins (which wasn't related to the previous update as far as I'm aware) I have no idea why they have that issue.

JoeB

FWIW Joe, I get only icons in the layers palette toolbar in the revised 20.22.0.1 as I also did in the buggy version.
