I recently purchased a Panasonic FZ1000 and for the first few months its output worked fine with VS. Then just last week, I shot a video using the camera in AVCHD mode and upon importing the clips into VS I had this strange distortion - it is difficult to describe but it sounds like a 'bubbling' or low popping in the background. When the raw video is played back in VLC media player it is clean, with absolutely none of this. Unfortunately the distortion is also found in the rendered files.
Here are the specs of the raw files:
The distortion appears whether I play back the file in clip or project mode.
You can hear the distortion here, during the guitar playing: https://youtu.be/nh63if8Se4g?t=43m9s
I tried switching to MP4 mode on the camera and the same thing happened, although the noise was less noticeable.
The distortion occurs with both VS X7 as well as X10.
This is the first time I have ever had this happen with VS - I have used the footage from three cameras successfully over the past five years with various iterations of VS with absolutely no audio issues. At first I thought it was a problem with the camera but when the raw files are played back in VLC media player they are fine.
Any help or advice would be most appreciated, thank you.
Regards,
Bruno
