How to recover a promo pop up I missed?

Post by jungleexplorer »

So I started my computer and one of Corel's little pop up ads showed up in the systems tray offering 75% off of VS-10 Ultimate. I tried to click on it it but my computer was still loading it just went away before I could. I opened VS 9X and looked for the offer but could only fond an offer for 20% off. Where can I find this offer that popped up?

Hi
Seize the moment……..
I only see messages after running the program, certainly not in my system tray?

Sometimes viewing Help – Messages may show several offers
I see a 40%, but that’s no different to visiting Corel.com

You could try re-installing the program to see if that resets the messages, maybe worth a go.

Hi

Just opened X6, followed asik1 suggestion :Messages, clicked on the message icon advertising X10.5, said I could buy Full Version X10.5 Ultimate with a discount of 75% for £21.99 - a bargain.

Open/re-install as early a version as you have available, close/re-open a number of times to see if popup appears. If not, go the Message route. Best of luck.

How about a way to shut off the ads entirely? I figured out how to disable in PaintShop Pro by hacking their json routine and shutting off messages in the messages option , but continue to get these nuisance pop ups for VideoStudio..

Most go away with: Menu Bar > Help > Message Preferences then uncheck Keep me informed... and Automatically download..., click OK. Set Receive updates/offers... drop list to Do not show me tray messages...

But it doesn't stop the nag screen to install the 10.5 update (which I don't want).

Hi
Corel messages are saved here:-
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Messages
This folder is hidden so type %appdata% into Windows Start search to find the roaming folder
and here
C:\ProgramData\Corel\Messages

Removing / deleting the messages should stop the popups, for the time being.
Take care that deleting messages can affect other functions, the Corel Guide may not connect to the server, on your own head be it.

You can try to locate the individual messages although almost impossible to do, so many to look at.

Corel should fix the popups, when we select "No Messages" it should do just that.
