When I apply a text effect like fly in or pop up it kind of forces me to make the text disapear but I want to control for how long I want the text to stay.
Now, when I simply stretch the block or increase the duration of the text appearance the effect is extending with the stretch but i want it to stay on screen for as long as I srtretched the text clip and not stretching the intrro fly-in effect over whole time of the text existance.
So in other words, fly in, stay for 4 sec and then another one.
How to make the text stay on the screen after fly in

Re: How to make the text stay on the screen after fly in
Hi milosh
And welcome to the forums.
A couple of options here,
Apply “fly in” to finish on screen,
Right click the clip on timeline and choose “Copy” dropping the new clip adjacent to first.
Change the animation of the new clip, maybe use fade out.
Customize Motion
Do not use the text editor animation
Right click the clip on the timeline for Customize Motion
A bit of a learning curve, but quite versatile.

Been here, done this. Here is how I do it:
If you need a short screen capture video just let me know.
Regards,
GEWB
- 1. Enter background (or black) slide on video track
2. Enter text box on Text line
3. Apply desired effect and size text box duration for full IN effect, such as fly in
4. Go to next to last frame of above text box duration (ie, 1.29 of a 2 second duration)
5. Menu bar: Edit > Freeze Frame...
6. Warning dialog click YES
7. Set freeze frame duration using spin box, click OK
8. Remove (delete) any IN/OUT effects on the freez frame that was entered on the video track line, such as cross fade, etc. that you might have set as "default" - you want a hard cut at the start of the freeze frame
9. Adjust duration of the freeze fame
10. Add exit fx (if desired) to freeze frame
If you need a short screen capture video just let me know.
Regards,
GEWB

Change the file extension to grf, make sure you know where on your HDD you have saved the renamed file.
Hi milosh
There are almost as many ways to do what you ask as there are VS users. Personal preference prevails.
My contribution is a Boris Graffiti 7.0 effect. You do not say what version of VS you use, so this maybe a waste, but:
* Apply a Boris Graffiti effect to a clip on the Timeline.
* Open up the BG effect, usual way, double clicking the clip on the Timeline, customize filter etc.
* Select Advsanced Mode.
* File > Open Settings > No to the question popup > navigate to where you have saved the above grf file > select the grf file and amend accordingly.
* Apply
There is a learning curve, but well worth it for final outcome.

Never use those horrible ready made titles they cause so many problems
make your own title then apply only the effects you want then you know what is going to happen
