Paint Shop Pro 2018 - Maximising picture

Post by excalibur1814 »

Hello,

Just installed PSP 2018 and, just like the previous version(s), it's maximising a picture the moment I click on it. It's REALLY annoying. Previously I removed the tick from tabbed documents, or something like that, but it's still doing it on this new version.

What do I click to STOP picture maximising upon clicking?

Thank you very much!

What mode are you in. I only operate in Edit Complete. With untabbed documents and loading 4-5 images onto the workspace I can click on the title bar of an image and it does not fill up the screen. I can roll the mouse wheel to make it larger or smaller. Are you sure your mouse ? is not double clicking the image title bar to make it go full.

I'm in edit mode. On my main computer it doesn't do it (Previous main version of PSP). Same settings, nothing really changed. Really annoying.

I click on the picture never the top bars. I'll try to make a video.

It is a known bug. It happens to me too when using the untabbed windows mode. It seems to be related to my Wacom tablet. Are you using a tablet?

It happens when you click the title bar of an image that is BEHIND another one. One tip to try to avoid it is to click on the side edge of the image or inside the image instead of the title bar.

And I agree, it is quite annoying and wastes time!

Spot on with your reply.

I am, as suggested, using it on a Surface Pro (2017) i7 model.

It is driving me up the wall but I'll live with it until the update eventually arrived. Fingers crossed. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one.

I'm fully up to date with PSP 2018 20.0.0.132 x64 on a Win10 laptop, edit workspace, no tablet. I still have the intensely annoying problem of an image maximising if I click its title bar.

Anybody have a solution? Please! It's driving me crazy!

That's not the fully up to date version, which is 20.2.0.1... Have you gone to Help in PSP and clicked on Check for Updates?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have. Says "There are no updates available at this time". Can't find a later version on the Corel website. Will try chatting with support to find it.

Found the links (via chat support) to Update 1:
https://www.paintshoppro.com/en/support/updates/

And a hotfix:
http://www.corel.com/akdlm/6763/downloa ... ration.exe

Problem fixed! No idea why it was telling me no updates available though. Very annoying - I'd have been able to fix the problem ages ago, if only I'd known.

Thanks for the advice Ken.

I believe the reason you're getting the message that there are no updates available is that Corel actually issued a prior Update 1, which was a failure. So when they fixed it they didn't post it as Update 2 but just, again, as Update 1 without even explaining on the updates page that it was a different, fixed Update 1 from the original. Corel people aren't known as a group that pays all that much attention to detail. :-(
