Yes, you can, and fairly easily:
1. VS open with your chosen video clip in the timeline. Select the video clip
2. in the options panel: blue tab Rh side of screen, just above the time line time counter. click.
3. choose video tab if not already shown, and click on the split audio icon. This will take the audio sound track out of the video clip and separately display it matching the video but in the voice track.
4. select that separated audio item in the voice track, and delete it. Note - not changing the original, just how the project file treats it.
5. now, in the timeline space, right click and from the list, choose to insert audio to the voice track. Use the navigation panel to locate and select your alternative voice file, choose OK. That alternative voice file now appears in the voice track.
6. select that alternative voice file and drag it to the position where it matches the video clip in the main timeline. May have to trim it to suit length etc.
And you are done. Play it, save if happy. If not, click on 'undo' until back to the original project file, or simply exit without saving.
Same method as David but a slightly different approach…
1 / place the video in the top track
2 / place new audio in Voice track
3 / Switch to Sound Mixer view so you can see the wave form, may need to zoom into the timeline.
4 / reposition the audio, the wave form will help here.
5 / playing the project should sound ok if audio is in sync.
6 / right click video clip and mute, play again
7 / lock the timelines using Ripple Editing
Multi Camera Editor
What version of Video Studio are you using if you have a later version then you may be able to use MCE
It does require two video files, so first make a copy of your video using Windows Explorer
Create a new library page and import your files, two Video and one Audio
Import the three clips to MCE
Sync the clips
Select “Audio 1” instead of “Camera 1”
Select the first thumbnail / video as output file.
OK to the panel returns to VS and places a VSP file in library, drag the file to the timelines.
Video and Audio should be in sync with video muted.
It could be that you are able to sync audio at the beginning yet be out at end of video, that depends on the audio copy?
