Important Request to all new Users of PSP 2018

Post by Marco73 »

Hi there,
this one goes out to all of you who never do HDR or did not do HDR with PSP 2018 yet.
Could you please try doing a HDR with PSP2018 at least two times?

Some of us experienced that "PSP Merge" - the part of PSP2018 that does the HDR - freezes at the second time, but we are facing a tough time making the Corel team believe us that it's no matter of our system or the files we are using.
(read here for further info: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=62256 )

We know there aren't many of you that ever use HDR, so Corel might still think it's a individual thing that goes wrong instead of their software being buggy.
So could you all try doing at least two HDR and report the bug to Corel?

Thanks!

Oh, I have already done so, with documentation and video illustrating it :)

Hello All,
Thank you for raising the bug here and it's a known issue for us. Good news is we have solved the issue and will include it with the next patch release soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you very much for your statement!
So why did your support treat us as if we were stupid and/or it was our system and files which caused Merge to freeze?
And - much more important - when will the patch be released?

I found a consistent freeze when I was doing an HDR single raw photo. More specifically when I clicked the process button on second step. I hope this is also addressed in the next patch of 2018. I love this feature and without it PSP is not adequate for my needs.

I have processed two sets of images to HDR and it works perfectly. No freezes. I installed PSP2018 update 1 yesterday.

After installing the update, everything went fine here, too.

RobertdB, it good to hear that this issue was fixed, but have you seen any other issues with the update that have been reported? Here are the problems various people have reported (different users report different issues and some report no issues at all, so it seems to be different for different systems):

Reported problems:

* View> Customize (to create your own toolbar for example) is not clickable
* All settings are gone, despite saving and loading a workspace file. Only your personal toolbar, workspace colour and adapted tools are imported
* Plugins are no longer visible, except Corel KPT collection in 32-bit and in the 64-bit Perfectly Clear SE v3 and the Redfield filters
* All references are gone to other than default locations for materials and settings, so you have to completely redo it again
* Tabs option in File> Preferences> General Program Preferences is gone, so you can not set the standard PSP Edit workspace should start. You will still get the Welcome screen

JoeB

Hello JoeB,

Here's my reply to your comment:

* View> Customize (to create your own toolbar for example) is not clickable
Can not confirm. Works fine here.

* All settings are gone, despite saving and loading a workspace file. Only your personal toolbar, workspace colour and adapted tools are imported
I did not make any changes to the workspace, except closing the learning center and the organizer palette

* Plugins are no longer visible, except Corel KPT collection in 32-bit and in the 64-bit Perfectly Clear SE v3 and the Redfield filters
Confirmed. Perfectly Clear and Particle Shop were still available. The NIK collection had to be added again.

* All references are gone to other than default locations for materials and settings, so you have to completely redo it again
Can't confirm, as I did not make any changes there yet.

* Tabs option in File> Preferences> General Program Preferences is gone, so you can not set the standard PSP Edit workspace should start. You will still get the Welcome screen
Can't confirm. Works fine here

I run PSP2018, update 1 installed on a Win10 Home, 64 bit.
