Unable to create AVCHD project

Using the Corel VideoStudio X10 trial version I cannot create an avchd project / change the settings.

- I open the program
- select FILE > NEW PROJECT
- select SETTINGS > PROJECT PROPERTIES > PROJECT FORMAT > AVCHD

the EXISTING PROJECT PROFILES window remains empty
I have tried two options with no success ;

- NEW... > ! Either memory is low or ULTEMPL.dat is corrupted [15099:3:1]

- OK > X Encountered an improper argument.

Normally I connect my camcorder via usb to a mac laptop and use FinalCutExpress.

It has been over a decade since I have used a pc / Windows.
I have had this pc / windows 10 for about a month.
Slowly figuring out the drivers but not totally sure what I am doing or where to find all that.

So far I have no issues connecting the camcorder via usb and using the Sony Play Memories Home program which can import and has a player for avchd.

What do you use as your source video? What does your camcorder have to do with this?

You realize that the trial version is severely limited on what it can do. It has many features, options etc either crippled, disabled or missing.

The trial version does not support Bluray Avchd or Mpeg, neither does it support disc burning.

You should be able to use MPEG4 settings via the Mobile or On line options, probably the nearest you will get to your Avchd files.
But will not be able to render to MTS types

Go to Share tab and choose the various render options, some will show as not available when using the trial.
