PSP2018 - Cropping tool - strange behaviour

Post by Marco73 »

When I want to crop an image, after hitting the check mark to apply, PSP2018 does the crop, but adds a large grey border- which remains although I use undo until the picture should be in it's original version. Also resizing the window does not help.

AND when I open an image and the cropping tool is the last selected tool, PSP2018 adds that grey border to that image, too.

How full of bugs is that great new versioN?!

It isn't technically a bug because Corel changed how the crop tool works so that, if you rotate the tool, it rotates the image instead of the crop rectangle. The extra space is there for the image rotation. For some reason Corel thought this would be a feature. Instead, many of us find it completely annoying at best and a colossal mistake. One would hope that they will change it back in an update, but I personally don't hold out much hope.

I though it might be something like that, but from my point of view the grey border should disappear when the crop is done.

I find this very annoying as well.
Takes up too much room, and is totally unnecessary.

Wish there were a way to turn it off.
