Hi
Have you tried installing the QuickTime Codec, you should not install the player, just the codec may be required.
Please view this YouTube video from Corel regarding QT

Scroll to 3 min 40sec for QT download details.

Re: Please Help with Assertion Error
Hi
CVSX7 had a few issues with mov files, Corel did provide a hot fix, a replacement file.
You can download the latest hot fix from my one drive
https://1drv.ms/f/s!ApBs8FwBwJ5jg2jQY0hfCg6wnpe2
worth a try, but given that X10 is also having problems I think the issue may be something else.
Video from I phones can cause problems for video editors, the solution would be to convert the video to a more editable format, MP4 should be ok.
Saying that can you rename the Mov video to use MP4 as its file extension, then try importing to Video Studio.
I did a search of the forum for uvqt.vio and found a few hits, but the posts were so old I think maybe out of date, certainly for X10.
I also notice your OP as Linux, cannot really help there, you may be best in contacting Corel Support to report this issue.

Re: Please Help with Assertion Error
Could you provide a sample file in one of the cloud drives so we can try it in our pc's?

Solution Found.
Go into add remove programs, click on Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2008, or later version, depending on what you have installed, click on Modify and Repair.
this worked for me.
