Have you tried some other software (such as ImgBurn) to burn your iso file to a DVD?

I might add that ImgBurn is freeware and works well. But if that too has difficulty finding a burner drive, then your problem is of course wider than just Video Studio...

The two errors you are referring to are they separate incidents?
First the "File may be write protected"
Does that error occur via Share to create a video file and shows after pressing Start?
If yes please try selecting another “File Location” on your hard drive.
First tell us if the existing location is on the computer or a separate external hard drive?
Once you have chosen a folder on your computer try to Start again?
