Can anybody help me to tell me how to create transparent titles over a back ground on an overlay track?
Is there any tutorial about it?
I want to put an image on the main track, black on the overlay track and transparent titles so through the letters the main track can be seen, keeping the rest in black.
Thanks!!!!

Re: Transparent titles over a black background
By the picture I guees that I have to make a previous video and then use chroma key to make the text transparent???
Is that right?

Re: Transparent titles over a black background
Yes that is what I did for that example
first I put a black block in the top track and extended the length to match the time I wanted the title to be onscreen - then typed a title choosing a colour for the text which was not very prominent in the intended main video - then rendered it out as a mp4 (or whatever you use)
now you can put your background video in the top track - your title video in an overlay and invoke chroma key choosing the text colour (because there's more of it Videostudio will first use the black background - but it's easy to change the selected colour )
will just add that I would not normally do it that way myself - what I would do would be to create a black image with transparent text in an external image manipulation programme and transfer that to Videostudio as a transparent .png which can just be inserted into an overlay track - just that I prefer to do it that way

Re: Transparent titles over a black background
Many thanks Brian again!
I thought to do it with an external programme but then I cannot make the text to appear and dissappear or other movements.
