Reset Library Crashes X10

Post by RobertOZ »

It's not been a good few days for me, firstly, a momentous system crash on the new laptop lost everything, could not even complete a factory restore because of the corruptions, after 3 hours with Dell it was finally decided to download a fresh copy of Win 10, installing that finally got me up and running again, so have been busy installing all my programs again.
Had some initial download/install problems with VSX10 in that halfway through the installation the computer just shut down, managed to uninstall the bits that had been installed, noticed that when it downloaded VSX10 it missed Standard Content and went straight to Standard Content2, also missed the 10.5 patch and also seemed to have missed some of the Bonus content. So, downloaded again, this all appeared to install correctly and version 10.5.0.60 is now installed.

Issues
1. New Blue Titler Pro not showing in the library, even after a separate install, nor does it show in the fx drop down box
2. Boris FX shows in library but not in fx dropdown box
3. BCC Title Studio has installed in C:\ProgramFiles\BorisFX,Inc\BCC Presets 10 Corel\BCC 3D Objects, but does not show in library or fx drop down box
4. my owned copies of New Blue Essentials 3 & 6 and New Blue Film effects, whilst showing in vft-plug folder do not show in the library or fx drop down
5. Trying to Reset Library via the library manager results in immediate crash of VSX10, the reset starts then crashes with the Corel VideoStudio has stopped working and Windows will close the program

Prior to the system crash there were none of the above issues, everything had installed correctly, so not sure how to proceed from here.

Have you tried the trick of renaming the 20.0 folder, restarting VS and letting that folder rebuild? I can only add that all those apps are still there and functioning in my X10.5 after (finally!) successfully installing the update.

Hi Ken,
Tried renaming the 20.0 folder a few times to no avail
Because trying a Library Reset constantly crashed X10, I uninstalled yet again, this time however, instead of allowing the install manager to download the program again, I used a previous saved copy, the install manager then only downloaded the 10.5 update. Installation went smoothly and everything now displays correctly, will now try reinstalling my owned New Blue packages, hopefully they will also display

Edit
All my owned New Blue packages are now successfully installed
